This deed reads as follows: "This indenture made the twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four, Between John CHURCH of Milton in the County of Saratoga and Margaret his wife of the first part and Samuel SLOCUM of the second part, Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred and Twenty Dollars dollars of good and lawful money of the United States to them in hands paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged has granted bargained sold remised released aliened and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargained sell remise release alien and confirm unto the said party of the second part in his actual possession now being and to his heirs and assigns forever all our right title and interest to the following described pieces of land viz; it being the land situate in the Town of Northumberland of which Dan'l SLOCUM late of said Town died seized one piece bounded as follows viz; on the East by lands of Conrade CRAMER Reuben BILLINGS and Abraham MARSHAL on the south by Henry GRANGER on the West by Francis D. WINNEE and on the North by Reuben BILLINGS containing about one hundred and fifty acres of Land. Also one other piece called the BANKER PLACE containing fifty acres bounded on the North by lands of Conrade CRAMER & William ROUSE on the East by Conrade CRAMOR on the south by Otis BATES & on the West by Thomas HEARTWELL(?) excepting and reserving our right title and interest in the land sett of{sic} to Margaret SLOCUM widow of the said Daniel SLOCUM as her Dower in the above described lands Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging of in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the estate right title interest claim or demands whatsoever of the said party of the first part either in law or equity of in and to the above bargained premises with the said hereditament and appurtenances To have and to hold the said premises above particularly mentioned and described to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the sole and only proper use benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns for ever and the said party of the first part for themselves heirs executors and administrators do covenant grant promise and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns the above bargained promises in the Quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against all and every person or persons lawfully or equitably claiming or to claim the whole or any part thereof will forever warrant and defend in Witness whereof, the said party of the first part has set their hands and seals this day and year first above written Sealed and delivered in the presence of Thomas HOWLAND. Thomas HOWLAND Saratoga County} On the 15th day of October 1834 before me Thomas HOWLAND a commissioner of deeds personally appeared John CHURCH known to me to be the person described in and who executed the within deed and acknowledged that he executed the same for the use and purpose therein mentioned.
