The submittor has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ************************************************************************ Howland deed 2(Saratoga County NY Deed Book V, pages 479-481) This indenture made the 12th day of September 1832 Between Isaac Howland, Daniel Howland, Job Howland, Jonathan Howland, Abraham Deuel Jr. & Lydia his wife, Gabriel Robbins & Ruth his wife, Elias Olney and Hannah his wife, Frost Howland and Esther his wife, Joseph Deuel and Phebe his wife, John Sanders and Mercy his wife, Ann Howland wife of Daniel Howland, Anna Howland wife of Job Howland, Phebe Howland wife of Jonathan Howland & Elvira wife of Isaac Howland of the first part and Samuel Howland of the second part. witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of three thousand dollars to them in hand paid by the party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold, remised, released and quit-claimed & by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, remise, release and quit-claim unto the said party of the second part & to his heirs and assigns forever all that tract of land situate in Saratoga Patent in the County of Saratoga & being part of lot number Twenty bounded as follows, viz: beginning at the northeast corner of said Tract thence Running South six degrees east seventeen chains thence north Eighty-nine degrees west thirteen chains Twenty-seven links Thence North twenty-nine degrees east nine chains thirty-six links thence west forty-one chains thence north six degrees west seven chains & seventy-one links thence north eighty-nine degrees east fifty-one chains fifty links to the place of beginning; containing fifty acres of land also all that certain tract being a part of said lot number twenty in the aforesaid Patent bounded as follows: Beginning at the north west corner of said tract thence running North eighty-nine degrees East Twelve chains fifty links thence South six degrees East seven chains & twenty-one links thence East forty-one chains thence South Twenty-nine degrees west nine chains thirty-six links thence North Eighty-nine degrees west fifty chains seventy-three links thence north six degrees west fifteen chains to the place of beginning containing fifty acres of land which two tracts comprise the farm & premises where Jonathan Howland deceased lately lived; reserving about two acres heretofore sold to Henry Howland. Together with all and singular the hereditaments & appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining & all the estate, right, title and interest of said parties of the first part of, in & to the same or any part thereof. To have and to hold the same to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. Hitchcock, commissioner of Deeds in and for the County of Washington, Job Howland & Anna his wife & Jonathan Howland and Phebe his wife to me well known as the persons described in and who executed the foregoing Deed and severally acknowledged that they had signed, sealed and delivered said Deed for the purposes therein mentioned and upon a private examination of said Anna Howland & said Phebe Howland separate and apart from their husbands each acknowledged she had executed said Deed of her own free will and without any fear or compulsion of her said husband.
