New York and died April 15, 1842 at the age of 41. He is buried in Halfmoon, Saratoga Co. New York. "QUITCLAIM" ESTATE OF WILLIAM J. SMITH SON OF JAMES SMITH Know all men by these present that we William Schouton & Hannah, his wife, John R. Smith & Rowena his wife Hezekiah Smith and Ann his wife, James Smith and Abigail his wife and Cornell I. Smith & Sally his wife of the County of Saratoga for and in consideration of the sum of Four thousand two hundred eighteen dollars and seventy five cents to use and have paid by Stephen Smith of the County aforesaid. The receipt whereof we do here by acknowledge have bargained, sold and quitclaimed and by these presents do bargain, sell and quit claim unto the said Stephen Smith and to his heirs and approve forever alto equity and each of our rights with interest estate claim and demand both at law and in equity and as well in procession as in of in and to all the real estate of William J. Smith deceased with all and singular the? and appurtenance thereunto belonging.
