Transcribed from SAMPUBCO copy by Bruce M. & Meredith Smith 28 July 2006. Recorded on 26 January 1886 in the Village of Saratoga Springs before Elias H. Peters, Surrogate I, Samuel Howland of the Town of Saratoga, County of Saratoga, State of New York being of sound mind and memory do make and publish and declare this my last will and testament in the manner following that is to say. First – my executor hereinafter mentioned shall pay all my just debts and put up suitable tombstones or about like my wife's stones. Second – I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary A. Engram three hundred dollars. Third – I give and bequeath unto my two sons George W. Howland and William D. Howland all the rest and remainder of my property both real and personal to be Equally Divided between them, but if either of my above named children shall put in any claims against my estate or make any Disturbances in the settlement of my estate according to the terms of this my will, then in either of the cases above mentioned the legacies herein given to either of them shall be void & their share or shaires shall be divided between those who do not make any disturbance. Fourth – I hereby authorize and give my executor herein mentioned the power to sell and convey by deed any real estate that I may have at my decease the same as I could of done if living and to divide and pay the proceeds of such sale out according to the tearms of this my last will. I do hereby nominate and appoint – George W. Neilson to be executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th day of April 1884. Samuel Howland (L.S.) the above instrument was at the date thereof signed sealed and published and declared by the said Samuel Howland as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in the presence of each other have susbscribed their names as witnesses thereto Geo.
