NY Will Book Vol. 1 page 350 Will of John Moon In the name of God amen, I John Moon of the Town of Greenfield in the county of Saratoga and state of New York being weak in body but of sound mind and memory thanks be given unto God for the same and considering the uncertainty of this life and believing that it is appointed for all men once to die, Do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is first I recommend my soul to the hand of the Almighty God who gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a Christian burial, and as touching those worldly affairs where with it has pleased God to bless me do dispose of the same as following. Viz, after all my just debts and charges are paid, I give and bequeath to Catrine, my dearly beloved wife one equal third part part of all my real and personal state during her life time. Secondly, I give and bequeath to William Moon, my only son the two equal thirds of all my real and personal state and after the decease of Catrine Moon, my wife, the other third part of my real state. Thirdly, I give to Catrina Mosher, my eldest daughter, Eighty five Dollars to be paid in one year after my dicese by my said son William Moon. Also the further sum of One Hundred Dollars in one year after the disease of Catrine, my wife. Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Zilpha Stover the sum of Eighty five dollars to be paid in three years after my disease by the said William Moon, also the further sum of seventy five dollars within two years after the disease of Catrine my wife. Fifthly, I give and bequeath to Mary Van Deroof, my third daughter the sum of eighty five dollars in one year after my dicease and the further sum of seventy five dollars in one year after the disease of Catrine, my wife to be paid by the said William Moon. Sixthly, I give and bequeath to Charity Filkins, my wifes oldest daughter, the sum of eighty five dollars to be paid in three years after my disease and the further sum of seventy five dollars to be paid in three years after the dicease of Catrine, my wife by the said William Moon. Seventhly, I give and bequeath to Mariann Weaver, my wife's second daughter the sum of eighty five dollars to be paid in three years after my disease and the further sum of seventy five dollars to be paid in three years after the disease of Catrine, my wife. Eighthly, I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Emigh, my wife's third daughter the sum of eighty five dollars to be paid in one year after my disease and the further sum of seventy five dollars in one year after the discease of Catrine, my wife. Ninethly I give and bequeath to John Lane, my wife's son, the sum of eighty five dollars to be paid in three years after my dicease and the further sum of seventy five dollars to be paid in three years after the dicease of Catrine my wife. Tenthly, I give and bequeath to Rachel Filkins, my wife's daughter, the sum of eighty five dollars to be paid in two years after my dicease, and further the sum of seventy five dollars to be paid in two years after the dicease of Catrine my wife, by the said William Moon. Eleventhly, I give and bequeath to Hannah Morehouse, my youngest daughter the sum of eighty five dollars to be paid in two years after my dicease and the further sum of seventy five dollars to be paid in two years after the dicease of Catrine my wife by the said William Moon. Twelvethly, I give and bequeath to my grandson ANANIAS SOG when he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years, the sum of forty dollars to be paid by the said William Moon. Thirteenthly, I give and bequeath to my grandaughter MARY SOG, the sum of twenty five dollars when she shall arrive at the age of eighteen years. Fourteenthly, I give and bequeath to my four grandchildren, heirs of Sarah Gailden, diceased, the sum of one hundred dollars to be divided equally among them when they shall arrive at lawful age, to be paid by said William Moon. Fifteenthly, I give and bequeath to Nucomb Phillips, my indented boy, one good horse saddle and bridle, to be valued at twenty five pounds, provided he shall stay and serve faithfully his indentured time out, and lastly I hereby appoint Catrine, my wife Exutrix and William Moon and Joshua Swan executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testaments by me maid.
