I Lemuel Taylor being infirm in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God considering the mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men once to die I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is principally and first I recommend my soul into the hand of Almight God that gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in decent christian burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall ____ the same again by the Mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly Estate as God has been pleased to bless me with in this life I give demise and dispose of in the following manner and form. To my beloved son Israel Taylor one Dollar, to my daughter Sara one Dollar, to my daughter Anna one Dollar, to my daughter Olive one Dollar, to my grand Daughter Lucy Taylor Daughter of Daniel Taylor one Dollar, to her sister Polly one Dollar, to my grandson James Crofoot a silver stork buckle to be paid to them two years after my diseas by my executor out of my moveable estate if there be any after my Debts and funeral charges are defrayed and the remainder of my Estate and household furniture I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Olive Taylor her lifetime and at her deceas after her Debts and funeral charges are discharged to my beloved son Lemuel Taylor whom I ordain constitute and appoint my soule Executor of this my last Will and Testament and furthermore I give ot my my son Jedediah Millard and my daughter Anna Millard his wife Ten Dollars to be paid by my Executor two years after my wife's deceas, and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and dismantle all and every other former Testament Wills Legacies and bequests ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this thirtieth day of August one Thousand seven hundred and Ninety Eight. Signed, sealed, Published and pronounced and dictated by the said Lemuel Taylor as his last Will and Testament in the presents of us who in his presents and in the presents of each other have hereunto subscribed our names. Lemuel Taylor, Benjamin Cowles, Rosannah Cowles Thomas Lindsay Saratoga County SS: Be it remembered that on the twelfth day of December the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and ninety nine personally appeared before me Henry Walton Surrogate of the said County Benjamin Cowles one of the subscribing witnesses to the within written will who bring duly sworn on his oath declared that he saw Lemuel Taylor sign and seal the said instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of him the said Lemuel Taylor and that he heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament and that at the time thereof the said Lemuel Taylor was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge and belief and that the name of the said Benjamin Cowles subscribed to the sais Will is his own proper hand writing and that he subscribed the same in the presence of the said Lemuel Taylor and that he saw Rosannah Cowles and Thomas Lindsey the other subscribing witnesses subscribe their names thereto in the presence of the Testator. And be it further remembered that on the day and year last above mentioned personally appeared before me Henry Walton Surrogate as aforesaid Lemuel Taylor Executor in the said Will named who was duly sworn to the faithful performance and execution of the said will. And be it further remembered that on the fourteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred likewise personally appeared before me Henry Walton Surrogate as aforesaid Thomas Lindsey another witness to the said Will who being duly sworn on his oath declared that he saw the dais Lemuel Taylor sign and seal the said instrument in writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of him the said Lemuel Taylor and that he heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament and that at the time thereof he the said Lemuel Taylor was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge and belief and that the name of the said Thomas Lindsey (....his mark) is his own handwriting and that he signed the same in the presence of the Testator. And that he saw Benjamin Cowles and Rosannah Cowles the other subscribing witnesses subscribe their names thereto in the presence of the Testator. Signed: Henry Walton
