The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** Transcribed from SAMPUBCO copy by Jere Hagedorn Saratoga co NY Will Book vol. 19 page 219 LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JONATHAN HAGEDORN I, JONATHAN HAGEDORN of the town of Providence in the County of Saratoga and the State of New York, being, of sound mind and memory do make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say: FIRST: I give and bequeath unto the Baptist Church and Society in Providence, County of Saratoga and State of New York the bank stock which I hold and own in the Fulton County Bank of the amount of thirty six hundred dollars for and to be kept as a permanent fund and the income thereof to be applied to the support of stated preaching of the gospel in the meeting house or place of public worship of the said Church and Society. And I hereby authorize and direct the Trustees of said Church Society and their successors in office to collect the proceeds and dividends of such Bank Stock and to apply the same annually to the payment of the salary of a regular ordained minister of the Baptist Sect and denomination employed to preach the Gospel in the said meeting house or place of public worship and in case it becomes necessary or advisable for the interests of the said Church and Society at any time so to do, I hereby authorize and direct the said trustees or their successors in office to sell and convert the said Bank Stock into money and invest such money in good securities upon interest and to keep it so invested, and to apply the interest income thereof annually as above stated. SECOND: I give and bequeath to American Bible Union one thousand dollars for the uses and purposes of said Union, provided and upon condition that I do not give that sum or the greater part of that sum to the said Union between the date hereof and my decease. THIRD: I give and bequeath unto my daughter ABIGAIL SUMNER, the wife of JAMES SUMNER, JUNIOR, all my clothing, beds, bedding and other household furniture for her own use and benefit. FOURTH: I give, devise, and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate of every description whatever both real and personal unto my son STEPHEN L. HAGEDORN and my grandson WILLIAM O. SUMNER to be divided equally between them share and share alike for their own use and benefit. Lastly, I hereby nominate and appoint my said son STEPHEN L. HAGEDORN to be executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
