Bub, Jr. Saratoga County, (Troy, Rensselaer) New York Be it remembered that on the ninth day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and thirty, at the inn of William Clark, in the village of Ballston Spa, in the county of Saratoga came before George Palmer Surrogate Jesse H. Mead of said county and showed to him that due notice had been given by citation from said Surrogate to all persons and more especially to Thomas R. Benedict, and Sally his wife, Enos D. Hopping and Harriett his wife, and to the said Enos as guardian for Mary E. Mead, Martha W. Mead and Thaddeus W. Mead minors and next of kin to Jasper Mead, late of the town of Galway in said county deceased that on the day and at the place aforesaid, the said Jesse H. Mead as Executor of the last Will and Testament of the said Jasper, would present said Will to said Surrogate, for probate as one of personal property. In which day and at which place it being expedient and no cause to the contrary appearing the hearing of the proof in relation to the execution of said Will was adjourned to the nineteenth day of November instant at two o’clock in the afternoon, at the office of said Surrogate in the village of Stillwater. On which last day leave was given to the said Jesse, appearing by George N. Palmer thereto specially appointed to proceed to the proof of said Will, and Daniel Hall one of the subscribing witnesses to said Will being duly sworn did say that he saw the said Jasper sign and acknowledge an instrument in writing purporting to be his last Will and Testament bearing date the eleventh day of December, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred twenty four, and that he together with Townsend McCoun and John D. Dickinson also subscribed their names as witnesses to said Will. That this deponent and the said other witnesses subscribed their names to said Will in the presence of the said testator was of sound mind and understanding and from all restraints. At hereupon appearing to said Surrogate do admit the same in the words following to a probate. I, Jasper Mead of the city of Troy in the county of Rensselaer of sound mind and memory and mindful of the uncertainty of life do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following to wit: I do hereby give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth for her own use, all and singular my real and personal estate, chooses in action, goods and chattels to my said wife absolutely and to hold as her own forever and as to such real estate, lands and tenements of which I may (unreadable) or possessed or entitled to. I give, devise and bequeath the same to my said wife Elizabeth to hold the same for her own use for and during her natural life. And I do hereby appoint my beloved wife Executrix and my son Jesse H. Mead Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke all former Wills and devises by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eleventh day of December, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty four. Jasper Mead (L.S.) Sealed, published and declared by the above named Jasper Mead to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator and each other.
