Sept 3, 1969 Ernest Quay, Rotterdam Ernest B. Quay, 88, of Dunnsville Road Rotterdam, died Monday in St. Clare's Hospital after a long illness. Born in Knox, he lived in this area all his life. Mr. Quay was employed as a heavy maintenance foreman for the Schenectady County Highway Department for 40 years. He retired in 1959. He was a member of the Princetown Reformed Church and a member of Noah Lodge F&AM, and Boer Lodge, IOOF. He was a past noble grand of that lodge. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Bond Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Irish, pastor of Princetown Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Viewland Cemetery His wife was the late Mrs. Anna Yates Quay. Mr. Quay is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Balert of Scotia and Mrs. Thomas Crawley of Corinth; a son, Edward Quay, Rochester.; three sisters, Mrs. Howard Nellis, Mrs. Hugh MacDougall and Mrs. James McKinney, all of Schenectady; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
