I, Abraham Van Ingen, of the city of Schenectady in the State of New York being by the blessing of God of sound, disposing mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say: After the payment of all my just and lawful debts, funeral charges and expence, I give and bequeath unto my two daughters, Sarah A and Catherine A all and singular my household goods, beds, bedding and all my other furniture of every kind together with the pictures now in my house, as well as those in burnt glass at present in possession of my daughter Margaret L which last named pictures is my desire that my said daughters Sarah and Catherine should give to their brother Abraham in order to carry out the oft expressed wish of their lamented mother that he should have them. Also, I give and devise to my said daughters, Sarah A and Catherine A and their heirs and assigns forever my dwelling house and the lot belonging thereto, which I now own and occupy, situate on the north side of Union Street in said city and bounded as follows: South of said street, West by the east line of a (now vacant) lot being part of the real estate whereof my lamented son, Theodorick R Van Ingen, decd, died seized. North by the South line of the lot now occupied by Thomas B. Peck and East by the West line of a lot now or lately owned by Aston Burt, being in front along the said street, forty feet and in rear along said Peck's, South line Eighty two feet and a quarter. But my anxious wish and desire is and I hope and trust that my said daughters Sarah and Catharine or their heirs will on no account whatever fail to comply therewith, to wit, that they or either of them shall or will not, at any time within at least five years after this my said will shall take effect, sell, convey or encumber by mortgage or otherwise, the premises or any part thereof, in this clause of my will, devised to them, without the approbation and consent of my Executor, hereinafter named. Also, all the rest residue and remain of my estate, real and personal of any kind or nature, whatsoever and wheresoever the same may be, which I now own or am in any way entitled to or which I may at any time hereafter acquire by purchase or otherwise, and be entitled to at the time of my decease and not herein before otherwise affectually disposed of. I give, devise and bequeath in manner following, to with: One equal, undivided, one eighth part thereof to my two Grandsons, Abraham John and William Henry, children of son William, and to their heirs and assigns forever and one other equal, undivided one eighth part thereof to each of my sons, John V, Abraham, and James L and one other undivided equal one eighth part of my said residuary, real and personal estate to each of my four daughters, to wit, Maria, wife of David M Shaffer, Margaret, wife of William H Powell, Sarah A and Catherine A and to their respective heirs and assigns forever. Lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my son, the Rev. John V. Van Ingen, D.D., Executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills and testaments by at any time heretofore made.
