H page 23 LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JONATHAN S. HAGADORN In the name of God, Amen. I, JONATHAN S. HAGADORN of the town of Glenville in the County of Schenectady and State of New York, of the age of fifty two years, and being of sound mind and memory: do make and publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say: 1ST. I give and bequeath unto my wife LYDIA the whole of my property both real and personal during the time she shall remain my widow, and to take charge of my family the same as I now do, while under the age of twenty one years, if they choose to remain with her and provide for them the necessaries of life the same as I now do, out of the proceeds of my estate, and the balance if any to be applied to the payment of my debts. And it is also my will that she have power to sell the personal property that she can spare and apply the proceeds of my debts, and if necessary to mortgage the real estate if the personal property that can be spared and the income of the place over and above the support of the family would not be sufficient to meet the demands to make up the amount. 2nd. I give and bequeath to my son ROSCIUS after my wife's remarriage land in the north half of my farm which half, would contain seventy five acres of land, he paying a legacy of one hundred dollars to each of my four daughters, MARY, TAMMASON, SARAH and ORCELIA. Then four years after he shall be in possession of said property. 3rd. I give and bequeath unto my two sons JEROME B. and JOHN forty acres from off the south part of my farm to be divided equally between them both as to quality and quantity. 4th. I give and bequeath to my four daughters MARY, TAMMASON, SARAH and ORCELIA the residue of my land being thirty five acres to be equally divided between them as to quality and quantity, and one hundred dollars each to be paid them by my son ROSCIUS within five years after he comes in possession of the premises in equal amounts to each. 5th. If my wife LYDIA should remarry and her husband leaves her destitute, it's my will, that if she returns to my children that they shall continue to contribute to her support out of my Estate in proportion to the amount they have individually received of me during her stay with them.
