Will Book 15, Pages 396-397 Written: July 10, 1891 Recorded: December 7, 1901 Will of Jacob Wetsel I Jacob Wetsel, of Howes Cave, County of Schoharie and State of New York, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in the manner following, that is to say: First. After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, I give, devise and bequeath unto my sons John and Allen Wetsel in trust nevertheless all my real and personal property of whatsoever name, nature or kind and wheresoever situated; and out of the rents, issues, profits and income thereof to use as much as may be necessary for the proper maintenance and support of my beloved wife, Almira Wetsel, and also to give her One hundred dollars a year for the term of her natural life, in lieu of dower. But in case of the marriage of my said wife Almira Wetsel, after my decease, I direct the said trustees, John and Allen Wetsel, to give her One hundred dollars a year for the term of her natural life, in lieu of dower. Second. After the death of my said wife, Almira Wetsel, or in case of her death at the time of my decease, I give, devise and bequeath, all my real and personal estate of whatsoever name, nature and kind to my two sons Allen and John Wetsel, to their heirs and assigns forever, share and share alike, provided my son Allen gives to my son John Three hundred ($300.00) dollars, otherwise I direct that my estate be divided so that my son John will receive Three hundred dollars more than my son Allen. Third. I hereby direct that if either or any of the devisees or beneficiaries mentioned in this will contest or interpose any objections to the probate of this my last Will and testament that the share devised or bequeathed to said party or parties contesting this will be forfeited and given to the devisee or devisees, beneficiary or beneficiaries herein mentioned, not opposing or contesting the probate of this my last Will and testament. Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint my sons John and Allen Wetsel to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the 10th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety one. Jacob Wetsel L.S. The above instrument consisting of one + one half sheets, was at the date thereof subscribed by Jacob Wetsel in the presence of us and each of us; he at the time of making such subscription, acknowledged that he wrote[?] the same, and declared the said instrument so subscribed by him to be his last Will and Testament.
