The last will and testament of Peter Posson of the town of Cobleskill in the county of Schoharie and state of New York- I the said Peter Posson considering the certain approach of death and the unknown period of its arrival, favoured with affectionate relatives, a comfortable portion of this worlds goods, the preservation and intellectual vigor unimpaired, blessed be Almighty God for the same, and for other good causes and considerations to me here unto moving; have made ordained and published and by these presents do make, ordain and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, to wit to a mercifully just creator and savior I commend all my concern of a future state. I resign my body to be decently committed to the dust, there to remain, till the reanimating voice from heaven shall summon it to the Glorious and interminable association with its immortal companion in the skies. First, I give and devise unto my son Henry Posson and to his heirs all my lands tenements and real estate whatsoever and wheresoever in law and equity, situate lying and being in the town of Cobleskill in the county of Schoharie and state of New York, to have and to hold to my said son Henry Posson and to his heirs and assigns forever, in manner to each hereafter particularly ______ forth subject nevertheless to the entire and full effect of the bequests, payment and charges hereinafter contained. 2nd. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary one hundred dollars in money which said one hundred dollars my son Henry Posson shall pay out of the above devised premises unto my beloved wife Mary six months after my decease in case my beloved wife Mary give and execute and deliver a release of her dower of the above premises to my said son Henry Posson and to his heirs and assigns. 3. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary all the household furniture which I and my beloved wife Mary made together since we live together; and also six sheep to have and hold the same forever. 4. I give and bequeath unto my son Peter Posson Junr. or to his heirs one hundred dollars in money which said one hundred dollars my son Henry Posson or his heirs, executors or administrators shall pay unto my son Peter Posson Jun. or to his heirs, executors or administrators one year after my decease. 5th. I give and bequeath unto my son Wilhelmus Posson or to his heirs one hundred dollars in money which said one hundred dollars my son Henry Posson or his heirs executors or administrators shall pay unto my son Wilhelmus Posson or to his heirs executors or administrators two years after my decease. 6th. I give and bequeath unto my son Frederick Posson or to his heirs fifty dollars in money which said fifty dollars my son Henry Posson or his heirs executors or administrators shall pay unto my son Frederick Posson or to his heirs executors or administrators three years after my decease. 7th. I give and bequeath unto the heirs of my daughter Catharine all the rest and residue of my beds and bedding which is not heretofore bequeathed equally to be divided between them to have and to hold the same forever. 8th. I give and bequeath unto my three daughters Elizabeth, Margaret and Anna each the sum of twenty dollars in money which said sum or sums of money of twenty dollars payable to each of my said three daughters shall be paid by my son Henry Posson his heirs executors or administrators unto my three daughters Elizabeth, Margaret and Anna or to their heirs one year after my decease. 9th. This is my order and will that all my funeral charges & other necessary charges shall be paid by my executors out of my money due to me at my decease if there be any left to pay said charges. 10. I give and bequeath unto my son Henry Posson all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate good and chattel of what kind and nature soever to have and to hold his heirs and assigns forever. 11th. And lastly I hereby appoint my three sons Peter Posson Junr. Wilhelmus Posson and Henry Posson Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fourth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven. Shafer Rebecca Shafer Henry Shafer State of New York Schoharie county ss: Be it remembered that on the fourth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one personally appeared before me William Mann, Surrogate of the county of Schoharie aforesaid Henry Shafer one of the subscribing witnesses to the will of Peter Posson late of the town of Cobleskill in the said county deceased who being duly sworn declared tat he did see the said Peter Posson deceased seal and execute the instrument hereunto annexed and impressed with the seal of office of the said surrogate, which said instrument purports to be the last will and testament of the said Peter Posson deceased bearing date the fourth of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven, that he heard him the said Peter Posson publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament, that at the time ______ ______ said Peter was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best knowledge and belief of him the said witness and not under restraint and that he together with Henry P. Shafer and Rebecca Shafer the other witnesses to the said will did severally subscribe their names thereto as witnesses in the presence of the testator and of each other. Henry Shafer Also Henry P.
