Fairchild Fulton County, NY Will Book Vol. U, page 98 In the name of God Amen I Heman Fairchild of the town of Schoharie in the county of Schoharie and state of New York being of the age of sixty-seven years, being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare, this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say: First I give and bequeath to my wife Sarah, the use of one third of my personal property, during her natural life or while she continues my widow. Second I give and devise to my three sons, namely, Philip W., Alanson, and Lyman U A, all my real and personal estate after my widow's claim, is paid, and all my first and lawful debts, and funeral charges are paid on condition that they pay each of my daughters namely Rebecca, Louisy P., and Lucy Ann the sum of six hundred dollars each within six years of the time of my decease. Third I will and devise that that in case I should die before my son Lyman U. A. shall be twenty one years of age, that he shall remain at home until he is full twenty one years of age, shall hav four months schooling in the district schooling annually and at the age of twenty one years he shall have as good a horse and cow as my other sons had when they were of age, all of which is to be paid before the property is divided. Fourth - I (give) will and devise that my daughter Lucy Ann remain at home until she gets married or until a final division shall be made of my (personal) property and Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my son Phillip W. and my son-in-law John Tompkins to be the executors of this my last will and testament thereby revoking all former wills made by me. Heman Fairchilds named as the Testator in the will to which this is annexed or within contained, do hereby make this present codicil, which I do order and direct shall be taken as a part of my annexed or within last will and testament and which will in all respects excepting wherein it is altered or changed by this codicil. I do hereby republish and confirm. I give and bequeath to my wife Sally Fairchilds the clock, the Bureau, the best mirror, the best Bed and bedding and bedsted(sic), three extra quilts, one blew(sic) and white coverdish, one table, one set of chairs painted yellow, one cook stove and all the untenthals(sic). Belonging to it one cow , and her choice, one set of stone china dishes, nine tea spoons, six table spoons, and her choice in all the above named articles, give and Bequeath to my three daughters Rebeca Tompkins, Permelia Doren, Lucy Ann Snyder the remainder of my household furniture to be equally divided betwix(e)t them. I give and bequeath to my three sons Philip, Lanson, Lyman, all the rest of my personal property, after paying my debts, and funeral expenses, to be equally divided betwixt them and my three sons Philip, Lanson, Lyman to find my wife Sally one years provision after my decease.
