A, p.134: The people of the State of New York, by the grace of God free and independent: To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send greeting. Know ye that at the town of Ovid in the County of Seneca on the twenty fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine before Jared Sandford Esquire Surrogate of our said county, the last Will and testament of John Seeley late of the town of Ovid deceased (a copy whereof is hereto annexed) was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us: and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death, goods Chattels or credits within the State by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us: The administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his will is granted unto Elenor Seeley and William P. Seeley of the town of Ovid in the county of Seneca Executors in the said will named, they being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same, and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required. In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed: Witness Jared Sandford Esquire Surrogate of the said county at Ovid aforesaid the twenty fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine & of our independence the thirty third. Jared Sandford Surrogate In the name of God Amen I John Seeley of the town of Ovid in the county of Seneca and State of New York being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elenor Seeley one house one side saddle and one bridle two Cows my servant girl Susanna and also one third part of the house hold goods and furniture of the house. I give and devise unto my beloved wife Elenor Seeley one third part of all my real estate for and during her natural life to have and to hold unto her the said Elenor Seeley for and during her natural life - I give and bequeath unto Jeduthun Seeley three hundred Dollars to be paid by my executors herein after named in five years after my decease, I give and devise unto the said Jeduthun Seeley his heirs and assigns forever that certain tract or lot of land containing one hundred acres of land being the Southwest corner of lot Number fifty one in the Military tract in the town of Ulysses on which the said Jeduthun Seeley now lives to have and to hold to him the said Jeduthun Seeley his heirs and assigns forever if I have not theretofore given him a deed of the same I give and devise unto my son John Seeley his heirs and assigns forever that certain tract or lot of land containing one hunderd acres of land situate and being in the town of Ovid being the North East corner of lot Number three in the Military tract on which the said John Seeley has made some improvements and now occupies to have and to hold to him the said John Seeley his heirs and assigns forever. I give and bequeath to my son William P. Seeley one hundred Dollars to be paid by my executors herein after named in one year after my decease I give and devise unto my son the said William P. Seeley his heirs and assigns forever that certain tract or lot of land situate and being in the town of Romulus being part of lot Number eighty six which I purchased of Elijah Miller containing by estimation sixty acres and one half of an acre of land and also all my estate right title interest and property in a certain tract or lot of land situate and lying in the town of Romulus which I own and hold in common with Samuel Brush being commonly known by the name of the Hays lot to have and to hold to him the said William P. Seeley his heirs and assigns forever. I give and bequeath unto my son Joel Seeley one yoke of oxen one Cow and six Sheep to be paid and delivered to him by my executors herein after named when he shall arrive to the age of twenty one years. I give and devise unto my son the said Joel Seeley that certain tract or piece of land containing one hundred acres situate and lying in the town of Romulus being part of lot Number eighty six commonly known by the name of the Decker farm on which James Merritt now resides I give bequeath and devise unto Joel Pease and his wife Elizabeth Pease for and during their natural lives or the natural life of the survivor of them the use benefit and improvement of that certain tract piece or parcel of land containing by estimation fifty acres situate and lying in the town of Ovid being part of lot Number Nine on which they now reside and occupy with the priviledge and benefit of such part of the barn built on the said lot as may be necessary for his or their own use and the priviledge and right of taking such fire wood as may be necessary from the adjoining parts of the same lot. I give and devise unto my sons Hezekiah Seeley Harvey Seeley and Asa P. Seeley their heirs and assigns forever all that certain tract piece or parcel of land containing by estimation three hundred and thirty four acres situate and lying in the town of Ovid being the East part of lot number Nine and the West part of lot number ten equally to be divided between them in respect to quantity and quality To have and to hold to them the said Hezekiah Seeley Harvey Seeley and Asa P. Seeley their heirs and assigns forever, in manner aforesaid subject to the devise herein before expressed to Joel Pease and his wife Elizabeth Pease. I give and devise unto my daughter Elizabeth Seeley Arvilla Seeley and Elenor Seeley their heirs and assigns forever such and so great a part of that certain tract piece or parcel of land situate and lying in the town of Ovid being a part of lot number three equally to be divided between them in respect to quantity and quality as will make the part or proportion for each one equal in value to the several tracts or parcels herein before respectively devised to each one of my said sons which value I will and order shall be determined and settled by my executor herein after named and the said part of the said tract or parcel of land shall be set off unto my said daughters Elizabeth Seeley Arvilla Seeley and Elenor Seeley by my Executors herein after named to have and to hold to them the said Elizabeth Seeley Arvilla Seeley and Elenor Seeley their heirs and assigns forever. I give bequeath and devise all the rest residue and remainder of all my real and personal estate property goods and chattels of what kind and nature soever after paying my funeral expences and debts unto my children John Seeley William P. Seeley Joel Seeley Hezekiah Seeley Harvey Seeley Asa P. Seeley Elizabeth Seeley Arvilla Seeley and Elenor Seeley their heirs and assigns forever equally to be divided between them; to have and to hold to them the said John Seeley William P. Seeley Elizabeth Seeley Arvilla Seeley and Elenor Seeley their heirs and assigns forever. lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my wife Elenor Seeley Executrix and my son William P. Seeley and Henry Wood Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
