She was a venerable and esteemed lady and making her home of late years, among her children. Her age was 78 years and 6 months. She was buried from the Baptist church last Sunday afternoon. A gathering of the relatives and special friends occurred at Deacon Luther Smith's -- where she died-- at 3 P.M., where a brief service was held by Rev. Mr. Warren; when all repaired to the Baptist church where a large congregation were assembled filling the house. Mr. Warren delivered the funeral discourse from Jeremiah 12:5, "What wilt thou do in the swellings of Jordan." The singing by the Baptist choir on the occasion was very excellent, especially the hymns, "The shining shore" and "Shall we gather at the river?" Many eyes were filled with tears in different parts of the house, and all felt that the Holy Spirit's influence was resting upon the audience."
