Mrs. Hayward, who was 67 years of age, was born in Pennsylvania. She had been a resident of Wayland for about forty years and had been a teacher for about that length of time. She was forced to give up that profession in January, 1930, on account of ill health. Death came suddenly at the last as the result of a shock. She is survived by no near relatives. Her husband, Murray Hayward, died six years ago. Funeral services were held at the funeral home of W. Eugene Baird Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, and at the M. E. church at 2:30, Rev. Dr. Williamson officiating, and burial was in the local cemetery. Wayland Area Scrapbook 1927-1937, Gunlocke Library, Wayland, Steuben Co., NY
