Crane, Brian Edward CRANE-Brian Edward, age 15, of Manorville, died suddenly Wednesday at Stony Brook University Hospital. For the past five years, Brian waged a difficult but valiant battle with Adrenoleukodystrophy, a genetic brain disease that earlier claimed the life of his brother Timothy in 1998. Brian is survived by his parents, Barbara and Ed Crane, his brother Patrick, all of Manorville; his maternal grandfather Everett Hughes of Hicksville and his paternal grandparents Grace and Ed Crane of East Hampton. He leaves behind legions of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and admirers. Despite the ravages of a disease that left Brian unable to see. Walk or talk, he met each physical challenge with courage and dignity. Brian was truly and inspiration to all who knew him. "Dundee" D'ALESSIO-Daniel A. "Dundee", 85, of Blissfield, MI formerly of Glen Cove, NY, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 21, 2005 in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born on June 7, 1919 in Staten Island, NY, the son of Frank and Marie (Pellegrino) D'Alessio. He was married on January 1, 1948 to Iris Alma Johnston, who preceded him in death in January of 2005. In Michigan, Dan was a member of the Blissfield VFW Post# 10912. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Bliss-Liewert Senior Center in Blissfield. In New York, Dan worked as a construction laborer. He was a member of the Globe and Anchor Detachment of the Marine Corps League, the Special Police of Glen Cove, and the Loyal Order of Moose. "Dundee" was an accomplished boxer, having been Golden Gloves Champion for all of Long Island, and captured the Diamond Belt for Boxing award in Philadelphia. While in the Marine Corps, he was a member of the All American football and boxing team. In the Marine Corps during WWII, he was trained in the use of the flame thrower. Dan will be greatly missed by his daughters, Iris (William) McLoughlin in Adrian, MI, Sandra Barrett of Glen Cove, NY, and Denise (Brian) Mallory of Blissfield, MI, grandchildren Tate, Shannon, Will, Veronica, Cierra, Clare, Jonathan, and D'Constantine. Mr. LaRocco was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving his country in WWII, and later as a reservist, retiring in 1974. He was also a New York City Transit Police Sergeant. Mr. LaRocco moved to Las Vegas in 1989 where he enjoyed his retirement until moving back to Newport 2001. Besides his wife he leaves a son Robert P. LaRocco of Mt. ULICH-George F., was called home to his eternal rest on April 19, 2005. He died at the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL. He was born in the Bronx, NY, on January 29, 1924 to Ann (nee Dehn) and Adam Ulich. He graduated from Herman Ridder Jr. High School, James Monroe High School and Pace College. He was a Veteran of the 104th Timberwolf Infantry Division and saw combat in Europe during WWII. He received the Bronze Star for heroic achievement. His business career was spent largely at the Williamsburgh Savings Bank, in Brooklyn, where he became President and CEO. He retired in 1987 after 46 years. Mr. Ulich served on various boards including, Helen Keller Services for the Blind, The Wortburg Home in Mt. Vernon and San Simeon on The Sound in Greenport, NY. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eleanor (nee Bauer), 2 children and 4 grandchildren. His daughter Christa Lorraine and her children, Andrew Paul, Caroline Grace and Christopher Adam of New Hyde Park. His son Glenn Adam, daughter-in-law, Sara Marsden and their daughter Gwendolyn Grace of Richmond, VA. He and his family lived in Brookville, NY, for many years and he and his wife moved to Manhasset Hills, in 2004. He was a summer resident of E. Marion, NY, since 1969. In 1992, he started to winter in Vero Beach, FL. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Plainview, NY, where the services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2005, at 10 AM. He was an associate member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Greenport, NY, and our Savior Lutheran Church in Vero Beach, FL. Burial will be at Orient Cemetery, Orient, NY. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by R. Stutzmann and Son Funeral Home, 2000 Hillside Ave., New Hyde Park. Visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9PM on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Helen Keller Services for the Blind, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, or a Charity of your choice.
