Mrs. Bennett lived her youth in Tampa before moving to Long Island, NY, where she met Charles, her husband of 45 years. They found thier dream house in Tampa in 1981 and had lived there ever since. Her life centered around family and church activities including being in charge of Sunday School music, directing Vacation Bible School and counseling at Camp Berea, (a Christian family camp in NH). Schuchman, William Louis SCHUCHMAN-William Louis, age 82, of Mesa, AZ (formerly of Oceanside, NY) died in Mesa on August 14, 2005. William was a retired Deputy Chief Nassau County Police Department, WWII veteran of the Pacific Theater (1941-1945) and a Past Master Oceanside Masonic Lodge. Chief Schuchman had a 35 year career in the Nassau County Police Department (1946 to 1981). He was the founding member of the Nassau Police Aviation Unit. As commander of the Special Service Bureau, he collaborated with Dr Gus Lambrew of the Nassau County Medical Center to establish one of the first Emergency Medical Cardiac Systems in the nation. The Chief and Dr Lambrew made sure that the Police Department's ambulance units were equipped with the newly developed cardiac equipment and that ambulance personnel were highly trained in its use. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Lillian, daughters Catherine and Christine, son William (Bill) who followed in his father's footsteps and is a Nassau County Police Officer, daughter-in-law Rose and grandson William (Billy). William is interred in Mesa City Cemetery. Bunker's Garden Chapel of Mesa handled arrangements.
