Ruitberg Jr., Oscar RUITBERG-Oscar, Jr., age 88, died at his home in Stanwood, WA, of cancer on August 25, 2005. He was a longtime resident of East Northport, N.Y., and a former resident of Glen Burnie, MD. Mr. Ruitberg was born in New York City on March 13, 1917. He served in the U.S. Navy and prior to World War II he served on the USS Whitney. During World War II he served aboard the USS Baltimore. He was a carpenter his entire career and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local Union 7. He retired in 1979. His wife of 33 years, Anna Ruitberg died in 1981, and his brother, Arthur died in 1943. Surviving are his two sons, Edward Ruitberg of Davidsonville, MD, Arthur Ruitberg of Griffin, GA, and his daughter, Anne Taylor of Camano Island, WA; also five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
