Peppler, George A. B. PEPPLER-George A. B. Huntington resident died Tuesday, August 23. He was 90 years old. With him at his peaceful passing were his daughter, Kathryn Fifer and her husband William, his son Peter and daughter-in-law Anne, his sons Stephen and Gary, and his grandchildren Elizabeth and Anthony Forese. He is also survived by his six younger brothers. The family is having a private remembrance service prior to interment in Port Charlotte, Florida beside his wife of 63 years, Betty, who died in 2003. George was Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Pennsylvania and a Professional Engineer with Brooklyn Union Gas Co. (now Keyspan) from 1936 until his retirement in 1981. At that time he moved with his wife to Port Charlotte, and returned to live in Huntington after her death to be near his daughter and other family. George had a passion for natural beauty and wildlife and loved to visit the national parks. He had an extraordinary rapport with animals.
