Born December 25, 1917, Dr. Sebastian V. Nardo was a professor of Aerospace Engineering, assistant Department Head and Dean of Graduate Studies (Long Island) at the former Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (now Polytechnic Institute of New York). Professor Nardo leaves behind his devoted wife, Carmella Joan; four children, Margaret, Charles, William and David; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Professor Nardo started his studies at Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn as an undergraduate in 1936 and except for four years at Chance Vought Aircraft during World War II, served the Institute for almost 50 years. "Sibby" as he was known to all, will be remembered by his family, friends, colleagues and literally thousands of his students with whom he shared his patience, wisdom moral values and life.
