Iannelli, Michael IANNELLI-Michael, 53, of West Oneonta, NY, passed away on Thursday February 3, 2005 in New York City. He was born on August 24, 1951 in SanAngelo, DiLombardi, Italy, the son of Bernardino and Filomena (Castellano) Iannelli. He married Anna Mascia on August 21, 1971 in Brooklyn, NY. For the past 12 years, Mike and his wife, Anna have owned and operated Iannelli's Ristorante in Oneonta. Prior to that, they owned restaurants in Cobleskill, Babylon, and Mattituck. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, as well as serving on the Town of Oneonta Planning Board. An avid outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting, and raising German Shorthair Pointers. Mike had a love for soccer, for which he played and coached. He was active in the development of soccer all of his life in this area and Long Island, and contributed his time to the development of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. As he grew older Mike took interest in the wine industry, and was noted locally as a connoisseur of fine wines. He is survived by his wife, Anna Iannelli of West Oneonta; his children, Mena Mazerole of West Oneonta, Michelle Iannelli of Hoboken, NJ and Michael (Debbie) Iannelli of Oneonta; two grandchildren, Mikela and Jack Mazerole of West Oneonta, as well as another grandchild soon to be born; his parents, Bernardino and Filomena Iannelli of Brooklyn. He is also survived by two brothers, Vincent Iannelli of New Jersey and Paul Iannelli of Pennsylvania, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. SOMERFIELD-Elsie J., age 88, died peacefully at home on February 3, 2005 with her beloved husband of 68 years Ralph Murray Somerfield at her side. A native New Yorker, she was a 1937 graduate of Hunter College, later completing her masters degree in Guidance and Counseling at Queens College and doctoral coursework at Fordham University. Her career as a gifted teacher, a compassionate guidance counselor and assistant examiner in charge of counseling and school psychology at the NYC Board of Examiners characterized her commitment to the importance of education and value of skilled counseling for children in need of help. Her innate ability to "hear" and help others, not only determined her career but was a gift she gave to her family and friends. She touched many many lives. After her retirement she served as a member of the Advisory Council of Queens Children's Psychiatric Center. A mother who deeply loved her children, she worked hard to make sure they had every opportunity to learn the skills they would need to stand on their own two feet in the world, as well as to benefit from from life's joys, music, dance, the beach, foreign travel, books and so much more. She will be profoundly missed by her daughters Benita and Barbara Somerfield, her son-in-law John Guffey, her niece Joan Levick, her cousins Roslyn Moskowitz, Bonnie Haber, Sven Mohr, her devoted companions, Clem and Margaret and many others.
