Born on January 22, 1917 in Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Anthony and Maria Marquez Arroyo. Mr. Arroyo was raised in Philadelphia and later worked as an engineer designing tools for Grumman Aircraft in Bethpage, Long Island, NY. While at Grumman Aircraft, Mr. Arroyo worked on the Lunar Module Project. After his retirement in 1982, he moved to Delmar along with the credits he acquired at the University of Pennsylvania, he graduated from Salisbury University where he taught periodically. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury, past member of the Art Institution in Salisbury, was active in the local Democratic Party Committee, was a frequent volunteer with the Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary and was an avid ham radio operator. He is survived by his wife Adelina M. Arroyo, of Delmar, four sons, Anthony T. Arroyo, Jr. and his wife Magaret, of Charlotte, N.C., Richard L. Arroyo and his wife JoAnn, of Northport, NY, Arthur R. Arroyo, of Mexico, and Raymond R. Arroyo of Central Islip, NY; two daughters, Linda Suttmeier and her husband, Richard, of NY, and Elizabeth A. Hensley and her husband John, of Seaford; fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and one brother Raoul Arroyo, of Georgia; and one sister Josephine Stevens, of Philadelphia. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1PM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. The Rev. Edward M. Aigner, Jr. will be the celebrant.
