Yoli, Ron "Captain Ron" YOLI-Ron "Captain Ron," 48, born and raised in Huntington N.Y. and a former captain in Montauk's charter boat fleet, died July 1, 2005 suddenly and unexpectedly just before a second honeymoon with his wife, Barbara (Bobbie). Captain Ron was an avid fisherman, both freshwater and saltwater, and had moved to Florida four years ago so that he could fish full time. His wife, Barbara, is a former Newsday employee. Known for his love of fishing, Captain Ron was an expert tackle designer, and his fishing lures were still widely used by the Montauk fleet and had been featured in several national magazines. Until stricken by a severe hearing loss and debilitating tinnitus, Ron was co-owner of an advertising and plastic card company. He was an avid supporter and counselor to the many people who were afflicted by the disease of tinnitus. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Barbara; his brothers Kenneth, Joseph, Gerald, and Leonard; his nieces, Jennifer, Laurie and Theresa; his nephews Andrew, Brian, Kevin, and Matthew; his sisters-in-law Barbara, Caroline, Mary Lucia and Susan; his brothers-in law James and Jim; his mother-in-law Nancy; and his cherished little nephews, David and Patrick. A funeral mass was held for Captain Yoli in Florida on July 7, 2005. For his many friends on Long Island, the family will hold a prayer service on July 16, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at Gin Beach, East Lake Drive, Montauk, New York.
