Sanford, Patricia Ann SANFORD-Patricia Ann, (nee Ruch) passed peacefully on to eternal rest on Sunday, July 17, 2005. She was 77 years old. Pat was a resident of Sun City, Hilton Head, and an active member of golf, bridge and bunko groups. She was also a core member of the Sun City Welcoming Committee and a good friend to countless people in the community. Pat was born and raised in Staten Island, NY and spent most of her adult life living in Massapequa, Long Island. She was an elementary school teacher in Amityville, NY for ten years. After retiring from teaching, she was a talented and devoted homemaker to her husband and two daughters. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Amityville for nearly 50 years and enjoyed church-oriented volunteer work. She was also an avid gardener. Pat is survived by a loving husband, Phil, daughters, Elizabeth Stepp (of Decatur, GA) and Sally Sanford (of Stamford, CT) along with sons-in-law, Kenneth Stepp and Paul White. A memorial service will be held in Bluffton, South Carolina, date to be announced. A private graveside service and interment at Decatur Cemetery in Georgia occurred on Tuesday, July 19, 2005. Pat was a brave warrior in a fight against cancer. She greatly appreciated the supportive care extended her.
