Fiano, Salvatore FIANO-Salvatore, 87, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Farmingdale, N.Y., passed into eternal life Friday, July 22, 2005. He was born on April 15, 1918, in Hempstead, N.Y., the son of the late Nicola Fiano born in Casagiove, Italy, and the late Cecelia Buonpane born in Casapulla, Italy. Salvatore was a retired shoe salesman. He left this world as he lived in it - with a gentle spirit and a warm smile. Sal had such an adorable way about him that to know him was to truly love him. He cherished time spent with family and friends over dinner and afterwards with a game of cards or bocce while enjoying a fine cigar. He was also one of the world's best antipasto makers. Sal loved being a part of the Pope John Paul II High School family where he endeared himself to faculty and students alike. He was preceded in death by his adoring wife of 54 years, Marjorie E. (Howard) Fiano and his beloved six-year-old son Nicholas who passed away in 1953. Sal was a devoted and loving father to Jeanne (Frank) Dorfmeister of Charlotte, N.C., Ronald (Delores) Fiano of Naples, Fla., and Father Guy Fiano, O.Carm. of Boca Raton. He was a caring brother to Louis and Nicholas Fiano of Long Island, N.Y., Mary Quartaro of Davie, Fla., and the late Angelo Fiano of Long Island. Sal was a precious grandfather to Frank, Deborah, Theresa, Maria, and Guy, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren. We give thanks to almighty God for the blessings we received through the gift of his life.
