Jack played in famous bands with George Auld, Dule Ellington, Cab Calloway, Red Rodney, Roy Stevens, Lee Castle, Wilmington Delaware Symphony Orchestra and Jimmy Dorsey. He served in the Korean War as the leader of the US Marine Corp Jazz Band. Following the war, he received his BS from Westchester State Teachers College and his MS from Columbia. Jack retired from the Huntington School District in 1984 as music director. In retirement he continued playing with local bands, gave private lessons and his students became very important in his life. He also helped out as musical advisor to various colleges. Jack will always be remembered for his special talents with music. The sound of his trombone will echo in our hearts for he touched so many lives.
