Carruba, Josephine F.
CARRUBA-Josephine F., 46, of Lancaster, and formerly of Bethpage, NY, died
Sunday morning after a long battle with ALS. She was the wife of Joseph
Carruba, with whom she would have been married 22 years on this coming
December 4th. Born in Astoria, New York, she was the daughter of Thomas
Sottosanti, of Mountville, PA, and the late Florence Zimmerman Sottosanti. She
had been employed by the Hempfield High School, working in the cafeteria,
where she was well known by the students, for 2 years, until her illness 2
years ago. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She enjoyed
being a wife and mother, and was a true "hockey mom", following her son's
hockey career. She was liked by everyone she met, and was loving friend to
many. In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by a son: Joey,
Jr. of Lancaster, and a daughter: Samantha Jo, of Lancaster; and a sister:
Darlene married to Dennis Sipel, of Conestoga. She is also survived by her
parents-in-law, Nancy and Sal Carruba of Bethpage, NY; 2 sisters-in-law, Linda
married to Tony Pacifico of Summitville, NJ, and Gina married to Eugene
Cordaro of Massapequa, NY; 2 brothers-in-law: Sal married to Donna Carruba of
Farmingdale, NY, and Robert married to Christine Carruba of Queens, NY; and 12
nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Charles Snyder Funeral
Home, 441 N. George St., Millersville, on Wednesday from 7-9PM, and on
Thursday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Friends will again be received on Friday at St.

Tatom, Dr. Andrew Jackson
TATOM-Dr. Andrew Jackson, II, 74, of Hempstead, NY, passed away Friday, June
3, 2005. Born December 14, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY he was a son of the late
Andrew Jackson Tatom I, and is survived by his mother, Anita Courtright Tatom.
Dr. Tatom was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force having served in the Korean
Conflict. Dr. Tatom had taught at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine
for 25 years, and had an active medical practice until he became ill in July
of 2004. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Matthew Tatom and wife Tiffany and
Dr. Andrew J. Tatom III and wife Sue, both of Lynchburg, VA; six
grandchildren, Drew, Alex, Matthew, Austin, Connor and Sawyer, other relatives
and friends. Jack would like to thank his students, patients and friends, who
made his journey here so meaningful. In keeping with Dr. Tatoms' wishes, there
will be no visitation or service. Any one wishing to make a memorial

Zweig, Virginia "Rusty"
ZWEIG-Virginia "Rusty", age 79, passed away June 3, 2005, at her home in North
Bellmore after a courageous battle with cancer. Rusty was known and loved for
her generous and welcoming spirit, her love of flowers and nature, her active
involvement in the Democratic party and her unwavering loyalty to the NY Mets.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leon Zweig, after a loving marriage of 52
years. She is survived by her daughters Heda O'Brien of Gaithersburg, MD and
Joni Zweig of Warren, VT and a granddaughter, Madhurii Barefoot of Warren, VT.
A service of celebration of Rusty's life will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2005
at the Bellmore Funeral Home, 2340 Jerusalem Ave. in North Bellmore beginning
