Born on August 19, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Alphonse and Marie Barbuto, of Old Brookville, NY. Besides his parents, Bob is survived by his wife and soul mate, Peggy Barbuto; three devoted daughters, Jennifer, Amanda, and Michelle; and his brother and best friend Arthur Barbuto, his wife, Angela, and their children, Brian, Alex, and Gabrielle of Sea Cliff, NY. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Catherine Swank of Manchester, CT; and his sister-in-law Ann Steele, her husband Jay, and their daughter, Megan of Southington, CT. Bob had a full career at American Airlines, and flying was a passion from a young age. After excelling in High School track and field, Bob graduated from the University of St. Louis. A lifelong and accomplished sailor, Bob enjoyed taking his "crew" every year to explore various islands in the Caribbean. He always had "one more place" to show. Tortola, BVI, held a special place in his heart. Bob was also an avid drummer, playing in various blues bands over the years. He will be missed by so many dear friends.
