During WWII, he served his country proudly in France, Belgium and Germany. He returned to marry his wife Sophie and start their family. Sometimes holding two jobs, he worked hard to build a good life for his loved ones. In 1939, he became a runner on the NY Stock Exchange and in 1957 was made a partner of Mitchel, Schreiber & Watts. He eventually served on the Board of Governors of the Exchange. Mr. Palmich was devoted to his family, loved his country and loved life! Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sophie Palmich in March 2004, Mr. Palmich passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2005. Survivors include his four children: Virginia Dwyer of Northampton, NY, Joan Linden of Savannah, GA, Susan (Kenneth) Moran of Huntington, L.I., NY, and James Palmich of Chicago, Il; six grandchildren: Audrey, Sarah, Nicholas, Joseph, Susannah and Alexander; three great-grandchildren; brother Daniel (Theresa) Palmich of Pleasantville, NY.
