Beam, Richard L.
BEAM-Richard L. of McLean, VA, passed away March 3, 2005 after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Theresa M. Beam, three
daughters, six grandchildren, 1 greatgrandchild, two sisters and a brother. He
was a past president of Hazeltine Corporation in Great Neck, NY. In 1968 he
joined the US Department of Transportation in Washington, DC, serving until
his retirement in early 1994 as Deputy Associate Administrator for Pipeline
Safety.

Block, Oscar O.
BLOCK-Oscar O., 87, died peacefully in Mt. Laurel, N.J., on March 8, 2005.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he graduated from Grover Cleveland High School and
worked for 50 years as Manager of Retail Sales for the American Fabrics
Company in N.Y.C. He served in the Army Air Corps as a Bombardier during World
War II. Mr. Block was married for 60 years to Helene Buffler, who preceded him
in death in 2001. Mr. Block was a trained vocalist who sang professionally for
four decades in churches and choruses in the N.Y.C. area. He was a dedicated
lay leader in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and was ordained a Lay
Minister after his retirement in 1985. He is survived by daughter, Lisa Helene
(Block) Herman and her husband Rev. Dr. Richard Herman of Moorestown, N.J.;
granddaughter, Elisabeth R. Herman; and brother, Alfred Block. Funeral

Litchford-Cahill, Doris
LITCHFORD-CAHILL-Doris, 87, of Northport, Long Island, died Friday, March 4,
2005 in Troy, NY. She had lived at the Eddy Ford Nursing Home in Cohoes, NY
for the past year. Mrs. Litchford was born in Butte, MT, raised in Portland,
OR, and lived most of her adult life in Cold Spring Harbor and Northport, NY.
She was a daughter of James Leslie Cahill and Pearl May Ellis. A graduate of
Reed College in Portland, OR, she also obtained a Masters in Education from
SUNY-New Paltz. She was a kindergarten teacher for several years in the Cold
Spring Harbor School District on Long Island, worked in her husband's
engineering consulting business, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Litchford had many
artistic and literary interests, was an unpublished poet, and an animal lover.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by many friends and family. Mrs.
Litchford is survived by her husband George B. Litchford, Sr. who lives at the
Terrace at Glenn Eddy in Niskayuna; her son George B. (Marla Brassard
Litchford) Litchford, Jr. of Albany; her daughter Jane Litchford of Salem, MA;
sisters Kathleen Cahill Dougall of Minneapolis, MN and Ruth Cahill of
Portland, OR; niece Leslie Dougall Sides of Tampa, FL, and nephew Christopher
Dougall of Minneapolis, MN. Funeral services will be performed at the First
Presbyterian Church, State and Willett Sts., Albany, Saturday morning at 11:00
by Rev. James Brassard. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be
held privately in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. A memorial celebration of
