Wood, Roy Winship WOOD-Roy Winship, of Bellport, NY, passed away on March 22, 2005. Born April 18, 1918 in New York City, he was a graduate of New York University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Wood's career with Grumman Aerospace spanned 43 years, during which he worked in Design Engineering on projects such as the Hellcat and F-14 fighter planes for the US Navy. Later in his career, he consulted on the use of wind turbines for power generation. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jacqueline; a daughter Susan Wood Carlson, of West Norwalk, CT; sons, Christopher Wood of Amagansett, NY, Jonathan Wood, of Needham, MA, and Jeffrey Wood of Bellport, NY; and a sister, Shirley Wood of Lynbrook, NY. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
