Goodman, Bernice R.
GOODMAN-Bernice R. Born on December 5, 1918 in the Bronx, N.Y. and went on to
a more beautiful world on May 1, 2005. She enjoyed the company of her parents
Anna and Eugene Ross, her sisters Ruth and Leona and brother Seymour, and
greatly loved her niece Eileen Sachs and family, and her nephew Raymond
Brunelle. Bernice graduated from Walton High School in 1936 and attended
business school. She enjoyed a distiguished career as buyer for Alexander's
Department Stores. She was the beloved wife of Howard S. Goodman for 47 years
and devoted mother to Barbara and Stephen Goodman, who will forever miss her
strength, determination and love; hallmarks of "the greatest generation" of
which she was a part. Slim and graceful with a natural sense of style and
elegance, she enjoyed homemaking, tropical vacations, the music of Frank
Sinatra and the Tonight Show with Jack Paar and Johnny Carson. She was a true
friend, generous and loyal to many, and entertained others with her witicisms
which came from an original and brilliant mind. Many sought her sage advice,
and she was happy to dispense it. Her zest for life and will to live was
exhibited under the harsh circumstances of illness during the last year, and
this was an inspiration to all she encountered. "It's a great life if you
don't weaken...and I don't mean maybe!" Donations can be made to Blinded

LEVEY-James S., age 56, of Hamilton passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2005,
in Hamilton, NJ. Born in Bronx, NY, he formerly lived in Glen Ridge, NJ. He
was a US Air Force Veteran serving during Vietnam. Mr. Levey was Vice
President of Claims Department for Ward North America Insurance Company in
Trevose, PA. Son of the late Simon Levy and brother of the late Daniel Levey,
he is survived by his wife Lois Levey; his mother Hortense Levy; two
daughters, Shannon Rising and Toni Ann Cecere; two sons Michael Cecere and
Thomas Anthony Cecere; two brothers Peter and Robert Levey; and a
granddaughter, Brianna Rising. A Memorial Service will be held at 1PM Thursday
at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
