BARETELA-Ronald "Bucky," age 58, a resident of East Meadow, NY, for the past
10 years, died Tuesday, October 4, 2005, from a lengthy illness with cancer.
Born in the Bronx, he was a proprietor of a Mr. Softee franchise for 30 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a parishioner of St. Raphael's Church.
Beloved husband of Sandra Ann Baretela, (formerly of New Orleans) for 26 years
and loving father of Ronald Baretela, Jr. and Anna Mimi Baretela. Also
survived by his father, Joseph Baretela of Fort Meyers, FL, and two brothers,
Richard and Joseph Baretela and four grandchildren, Cassandra, Jessica, Joseph
and Ronald Baretela III and his extended family from New Orleans. He was on a
spiritual quest and loved by many friends and supporters. The family wishes to
acknowledge the loving care provided by the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice.

Chinn, Peter        
CHINN-Peter, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2005 in Concord, CA at
the age of 90. Peter and his late wife Nellie Chinn were longtime residents of
Syosset, NY, where they owned and operated the Mah Jong Restaurant. They later
retired in Palm Bay, FL, and Sun City West, AZ. Peter was a graduate of NYU,
received an MBA from Harvard Business School and served in the US Marines. He
is survived by his children: Katherine Slazak of Livingston, NJ, Debbie Chinn
of El Cerrito, CA, and Michael Chinn of Concord, CA. He also leaves behind a
grandson Christopher Slazak, sisters-in-law Daisy Kwoh, Edith Ang, Dora Kwoh
and Grace Tong, and brothers-in-law Teddy Kwoh, and Yang-hu Tong. A Memorial
Service will be held at 1PM Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Ouimet Bros.

SPITZE-William Carl, formerly of Massapequa on September 27, 2005 after a
brief fight with lung cancer in Colorado Springs in his 82nd year. WWII Vet,
USN. Retired from NY and Mt. Bell. Predeceased by his wife, Margaret, his son,
William and his nephew, Michael. Survived by his loving children, Jean and Tom
Stapleton and Dr. Diane Al-Abduljalil and his adoring grandchildren, Khalid,
Hanohn, Dillon, and Kirsten. Dear brother to Vera and George Schlessinger,
Warren and Chip Spitze and Ann and Michael Capobianco. Cherished by many
nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at Chapel of Memories in

STEPHAN-Walter H. "Steve," age 80, of Seaford, Del., formerly of Bayville,
N.Y., died on Friday, October 7, 2005, at home. Mr. Stephan retired from
Millmax in Oyster Bay, N.Y. He was an Army veteran of WW II, and received a
Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of
Columbus, St. Gertrude Council in Bayville, N.Y. He is survived by his wife,
Carol Haushalter Stephan, 6 children, Maureen Hoeler of Seaford, Michael
Stephan and his wife Bonnie of Lynbrook, N.Y., Thomas Stephan and his wife
Kathi of Port Richey, Fla., Colleen Lamb and her husband Barry of Bayville,
N.Y., Kenneth Stephan of Ballwin, Mo., and Christopher Stephan and his wife
Michelle of Seaford; 1 sister, Ruth Albino of Bayville, N.Y. Also surviving
are 9 grandchildren, Joseph Hoeler, Michael Stephan, Lauren Stephan, Ryan
Stephan, Alyssia Stephan, Shannon Stephan, T.J., Stephan, Melissa Stephan, and
Patrick Stephan. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, October 11th, at 11:30
AM, at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, DE, where
friends may call on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Delaware
Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

deep conviction to her Catholic faith. A unique and treasured friend to many,
