I remember every word, every detail. I thought it was a lie. I wanted it to be a lie. I feel like I haven't cried enough. The week before was the last time I hugged him and told him I loved him. I never got to say goodbye. There's so much I need to tell him, yet so much he already knows. All the new video games, music and new clothes. Things he'll never be able to have again but things I still buy him just because I know he would've liked them. It's hard to walk around the mall and see these things knowing he's not there to see them. It's hard to celebrate the birthdays and holidays, knowing he won't be there to celebrate with me. All our old traditions never the same again. My little brother. My hero. He taught me so much when he was still here and he's still teaching me. I've become stronger and wiser because of him. I know that he is still here with me. He's there when I look up at the stars, when I drive to work, still protecting me as he always did, as he always will. These two years since he's been gone, have passed by so fast and still every thought, every memory I have, are of him. I'll never stop thinking of him. He'll always be my hero. It's just not fair. I never got to say goodbye. Brienne Arroyo and Family Published in Newsday on 9/11/2005. Bilek, Robert J. (Memoriam) ROBERT J. BILEK 5/2/1949 - 9/11/2004 Cherished Husband I missed you today, we couldn't be together. I would give anything to look into your eyes and feel the warmth and love of you smile, to feel your soft and gentle touch and to hold you once more. I miss everything about you. I feel blessed that we had each other. You are my soul mate, best friend, you complete me. Together we created a beautiful family, three precious children and it is through the love and strength of our children that bond us together, forever. I send you my heart on the wings of love. Forever and Always Lynnie xxxxoooo Published in Newsday on 9/11/2005. Bilek, Robert J. (Memoriam) ROBERT J. BILEK 5/2/49 - 9/11/04 Loving Dad We little new that morning that God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.
