At 69 he was just coming into his youth, planning a new life with his fiancˇe Joann Kestler, of whom he proudly said, "She's my strength." Before he died, they were married - twice. Eddie was a character; he loved abundantly and changed the lives of all he knew. To his own 3 he added 16 adopted children and housed over 60. He worked tirelessly to give others a better life than he had. Eddie's jobs included his own potato chip route, antique store, and 35 years as the farm manager of Cornell Cooperative Extension in Yaphank. Eddie is predeceased by his sons Jerry and Anthony and survived by his brothers Vinny and Frankie; his children Edward, Genevieve, Steven, Irene, and 13 others; his grandchildren Jennifer, Jillian, Edward, Gabriella, and Sentino; his daughter-in-law Helen, son-in-law Chris, and in his words, "the love of my life - Joann." No one has lived as fully as Eddie, a fact which makes his passing tragic. Eddie was happy before he died and felt complete but we all wanted him to have a few more years to enjoy it. As we sat with him he said, "If this is dying I want to die every day." Eddie will never be forgotten. He will be waked at O.B. Davis Funeral Home in Port Jefferson Station.
