Venturi, Eugene Vincent VENTURI-Eugene Vincent, formerly of Mineola, NY, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 13th at his home in Southbury, CT. He was the husband of Shirley G. (Barton) Venturi and the widower of Irene (Walukanis) Venturi, to whom he was married for 46 years. Mr. Venturi was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Greenwich Village, NY, son of the late Vincent and Jennie (Ferracci) Venturi. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School and served in the US Air Force during World War II. He attended New York University nights while managing automobile dealerships in Westchester County and Long Island. He later owned a dealership in Bayshore until his retirement. He lived in Mineola, NY for 43 years before moving to Heritage Village in 1999. An avid golfer, he played in pro-am tournaments in the 1970's and continued playing golf until his illness. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Barbara Holdgrafer of Armonk, NY and Eleanor Ellsworth of Framingham, MA; two stepchildren, Deborah Haverly and Gregory Barton, and 4 grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Main Street South, Southbury. Burial in Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, Long Island. No calling hours.
