Hill, Deceased Petition for Letters of Administration Filed April 3rd 1914 [signed] D.M. Gillespie Clerk of the Surrogate's Court TO THE SURROGATE'S COURT OF THE COUNTY OF TOMPKINS, IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK: The Petition of Mary J. Hill, a resident of the City of Ithaca, County of Tompkins and State of New york, died on the 18th day of March, 1912, at Ithaca in the County of Tompkins and said State of New york, without leaving any last Will and testament, to the best of your petitioner's knowledge, information and belief. That the said decedent died possessed of certain property within this State and County; and that as your petitioner is informed and believes, the value of the personal property of which said decedent died possessed (together with the probable amount to be recovered by reason of any right of action granted an administrator of the said decedent by special provision of law), does not exceed the sum of Two Hundred dollars; said decedent owned - no - real estate; That said decedent left him surviving Mary J. Hill his widow who resides at Ithaca in the county of Tompkins, and that the following named persons are all the next of kin of the said decedent, and that their relationship to said decedent and their places of residence, as far as they are known to your petitioner or can be ascertained by her with due diligence, are as set opposite their names respectively, as follows: Name: Helena E. Hill Relationship: daughter Residence: Ithaca, N.Y. That as your petitioner is informed and believes all of the foregoing named persons are of full age, and sound mind That your petitioner is widow of said decedent and as such is entitled to adminstration upon his estate. That no petition for a grant of letters of administration upon said estate has been filed in any Surrogate's Court in this State, as your petitioner is informed and believes, and no Surrogate's Court has acquired jurisdiction of or over such estate. Your petitioner therefore prays for a decree awarding letters of administration, prior or equal to that of your petitioner, or otherwise required by law to be cited, to show cause why such a decree should not be made, or such other order or decree made as may be just and proper.
