It is on private property at 363 Beaverkill Road and is adjacent to the SUNY New Paltz Field Campus. In September 2000 and again in September 2001, members of the Elliott family cleared the cemetery of brush, removing saplings and trees next to stones. Information indicates the cemetery was the town cleared the cemetery about 1976. The Poucher and Terwilliger transcription indicated the cemetery was "badly overgrown with shrubbery" in 1930. (Poucher gives the location as Marbletown, but the cemetery is located in the town of Olive. The earliest existing stone in the cemetery is that of G.E. (full name unknown) in 1845. The last known burial in the cemetery is that of Emma Bush Davis in 1944 (no stone, just a funeral marker). The majority of the stones are dated the last quarter of the 19th century with a few into the early 20th. In one section on the west side of the cemetery near the bank of the Esopus River is a grouping of several stones that are upright and whole, but illegible. There is another grouping of the stubs of several other stones just north of this area. Estimates are of about 20 additional burials that cannot be identified. The inscriptions here are as they appeared with spelling and punctuation. Separate lines are indicated by semi-colons.
