The last Will and Testament of Joel Minard late of Esopus in the County of Ulster was admitted to probate and prove as a Will of real and personal Estate which said will with the proofs and examinations taken before me in respect to the same are in the words and figures following to wit- The last Will and testament of Joel Minard of the town of Esopus in the County of Ulster and state of New York made this sixteenth day of January in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one I Joel Minard aforesaid considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say. First, I will, order and direct that my beloved wife Susannah have full control and management and have the care of all my Estate until my youngest living child shall arrive to the full age of twenty one years and to keep my property all together and pay off my honest debts, and keep provide for and take care of my minor children and my property in the same manner as though I myself was yet with them until my said youngest child shall arrive at the full age of twenty one years as aforesaid providing this my said wife remain my and continue my widow till then, and that as soon after my decease as may be my executors here in after named, take and make a perfect inventory of all my personal property except my wearing apparel, which I order divided equally between my four sons. 2nd, after my said youngest living child arrives at the full age of twenty one year, I then will, give and divide unto my four sons David Minard, James C. Minard, Samuel Minard and Elias Minard and their heirs two thirds of all my Estate both real and personal to be divided equally between them share and share alike. And to my four daughters Ana Elisa Mott, Eveline Dickinson, Jane Minard and Mary Minard and to their heirs one third part of my Estate both real and personal to be divided equally between them share and share alike. 3rd, In case that it should be necessary to sell my real estate for a distribution I hereby order and direct that my Executrix and Executors herein after named to sell the same and hereby authorize them to execute a good deed of conveyance to the purchaser for the same. Lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint my wife Susannah my Executrix and my two sons David Minard and James C. Minard executors of this my last Will and Testament. In witness where of I have here unto fit my hand and seal this sixteenth day of January in the one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.
