At a Surrogates court held at the Surrogate of the County of Ulster at Kingston 
and for the County of Ulster on the Twenty fifth day of February 1850.

The last Will and Testament of Joel Minard late of the town of Esopus in the 
County of Ulster, deceased, was admitted to probate and prove as a Will of real 
and personal Estate which will with the proof and examination taken in respect 
to the same are in the word and figures following to wit-

The last Will and testament of Joel Minard of the town of Esopus in the County 
of Ulster and state of New York made and published this eight day of October one 
thousand Eight hundred and forty six. 

I Joel Minard of the place aforesaid being of sound mind and memory doth make 
and publish this my Last Will and Testament in a manner and form following that 
is to say.

First, I will and direct that all my honest debts be paid out of my Estate.

Secondly, I will order and direct that my Executors here in after named to sell 
and dispose of all my real Estate to the best advantage they can, and to that 
end after a reasonable time after decease and I hereby authorize and empower my 
said executors to give and execute to the purchaser a deed of conveyance for the 
same.

Thirdly, I will and bequeath unto my three sons Joel Minard, Isaac Minard and 
Stephen Minard jointly and their heirs forever, two thirds of all my Estate to 
be divided between them share and share alike.

Fourthly, I will and bequeath with my three daughters viz Lovina wife of Stephen 
Slyter (Slayter), Sarah wife of Jacob Norden and Fanny wife of John Roselle, 
jointly and their heirs forever three fourths of one third of all my Estate to 
be divided between them share and share alike.

Fifthly,  I also will and bequeath unto Joel Dixon, David Dixon, Samuel Dixon, 
Mary Gillet, Jane Ann Dixon, Eliza Dixon and Henry Dixon Junior, Children of my 
daughter Abigail deceased jointly and to their heirs forever one fourth part of 
one third of all of my Estate to be divided between them share and share alike.
Lastly, I hereby ordain constitute and appoint my son Joel Minard Jr. and my 
friend and neighbor David Horton as my Executors of this my Last Will and 
Testament thereby resaking all former Wills by me made.  In witness where of I 
have here unto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

We the undersigned do hereby certify the above consisting of part of two pages 
was in our presence signed by Joel Minard on this 8th day of October 1846 and 
declared by him to be his Last Will and Testament, and at his request we here 
unto sign our names as attesting witnesses-
