I Garret Radeker considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret the use and control of all my real and personal Estate, of what nature or kind soever until my son Charles G. Radeker arrives at the age of twenty years, but if my said son Charles should not live to the age of twenty one years, it is my will and express desire, that my wife keep and have the use and control of my said estate as long as she remains my widow and during her natural life, and I bind my said wife to pay my just debts and funeral expenses, and legacies herein after named to my three daughters, viz. Mary M. wife of John Thomas, Purcilla S. Radeker and Palmira S. Radiker. Viz. First I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary M. wife of John Thomas, the sum of three hundred dollars, to be paid to my daughter Mary two years after my decease. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Purcilla Radeker, the sum of three hundred dollars payable to her four years after my decease, also I give and bequeath to my daughter Purcella S. Radeker an outset worth one hundred dollars to be given to her on the day of her marriage or when she arrives at the age of twenty one years. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Palmira S. Radeker the sum of three hundred dollars payable Six years after my decease. Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Palmira S. Radeker, one outset worth one hundred dollars to be given to her on the day of her marriage, or when she arrives at the age of twenty one years. And furthermore it is my will and desire that my said wife should provide maintenance of and school my last mentioned minor children until they arrive at the age of twenty one years respectively. If my said wife cannot consistently pay my said debts and legacies above mentioned, in that case I desire that my executor herein after named cause to be set at public auction or otherwise, a part or all of my personal property, and if such sale be insufficient to pay the said debts and legacies, then in that case, if my said Executors think it expedient within their sound discretion, I do hereby authorize and empower and direct my said Executors and their Executor or Executors , from and after my decease, and by virtue of this my last will and testament for and towards the performance of my said testament, shall bargain, sell alien in fee simple any part or portion of my farm and lands situate, lying and being in the town of Shawangunk, or if my said executors think it is at best and desirable instead of selling said land as aforesaid, I will and ordain and I give my said executors full power and authority to mortgage all or any part if my said land as aforesaid for the purpose of paying my said debts. Legacy (___) and by this my last will and testament I do by these presents to give the said executors full power and authority to mortgage or grant, alien, bargain, sell, convey and assure all or any parts or portion of my land as aforesaid to any person or persons and their heirs forever in fee simple, by all and every such lawful ways and means in the law as to my said executors or their executors or their counsel learned in the law shall my said executors or their counsel learned in the law shall seem fit or necessary . Item. If my son Charles G. Radeker lives and arrives to the age of twenty one years, I give and devise to my said son, Charles G. Radeker all that my (____) and tenemint with the appurtenances as situati [sic] lying and being in the town of Shawangunk, that may not be sold as before said, to have and to hold to my son Charles G. Radeker , his heirs and assigns forever. Also I give and bequeath to my son Charles G. Radeker. All the personal property of what nature or kind soever arising from the sale of my real Estate or other wise, excepting such personal property that is herein after given and bequeathed to my said wife for her use during her life as long as she remains my widow, and after my said wife's death or widowhood to belong and returned to my said son Charles G. Radeker. Item. After my son Charles G. Radeker arrives at the age of twenty one years, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret the use of three of my best rooms in my dwelling house, such rooms as my said wife shall choose and select with privilege in the cellar and garret, with privilege of water from the well. Also I bind my son Charles G. Radeker to furnish my said wife with one good cow kept for her use winter and summer. Also to procure my said wife with sufficient firewood drawn and cut up at the door. Also to furnish her my said wife a good garden spot. Also to procure and furnish my said wife a suitable conveyance to go to church, and all other necessary places. Also to pay my said wife the sum of one hundred dollars per year each and every year for and during her life or widowhood as aforesaid. And furthermore I authorize my said wife to select from my household furniture such personal household goods, such goods and furniture as will be necessary for her use to keep house with during her widowhood or natural life, and after her decease said goods, and household furniture so selected by her to be returned and belong to my said son Charles G. Radeker. Furthermore the above legacy and bequeath given to my said wife as aforesaid I hereby declare is intended to be and is so given to her in full satisfaction and recompense of and for her dower and thirds, which she may or can in any wise claim or demand out of my Estate. Item. I do hereby appoint my said wife Margaret Executrix and my trusty friend Harry Tremper Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness thereof I have I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty ninth day of January in this year of our lord one thousand and Eight hundred and fifty three. Garret Radeker The above instrument consisting of one sheet and a half sheet of paper or six pages was now here subscribed by Garret Radeker the testator in the presence of each of us and was at the same time declared by him to be his last will and testament, and we at his request sign our names hereto as attesting witnesses.
