Queensbury -- Helen F. Cutting, 88, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, with her loving family at her side. She was born Jan. 4, 1917, in Whitehall, N.Y., the daughter of the late James and Anna (Gordon) Barton. Helen was the cook at Harlem State Valley Hospital, in Wingdale, N.Y., for many years. She also cooked for the Silver Diner in Whitehall. Helen always spoke of how proud she was of driving the Barton Taxi during World War II. She was known for her crocheting, making afghans for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she always supplied the afghans for the church raffles. She was devoted to her faithful four-legged companion, Teeny Belle. Helen was predeceased by her parents, James and Anna Barton; her first husband and father of her children, Harry M. La May, who passed away in 1965; her second husband, Dick Cutting, who passed away April 24, 2000; her sister, Jane John, who passed away in 2002; and her great-grandson, Devin R. Colon, who passed away in 1990. She is survived by her daughters, Lorraine Bowen and husband Robert, of Hudson Falls and Jane Turner of Fort Edward; her sisters, Grace Cuomo and husband, Thomas, of Whitehall; Irene Underhill and husband, Earl, of Clifton Park; grandchildren, Tami Tedesco, Robert Isdell, Thomas Jones, Stacy Montalvo, Robert Bowen Jr., and Christopher Bowen, along with several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury. Burial will immediately follow at Pine View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donation in honor of Helen go to Bay Ridge Rescue Squad, 1109 Ridge Road, Queensbury, NY 12804. Helen's family would like to extend an invitation to everyone to a luncheon in Helen's honor at the Parish House of the Baptist Church, Route 4, Kingsbury, following the burial. Published in the Post-Star on 4/4/2005. Lee, Eugene C. CORINTH -- Eugene C. Lee, 77, of Angel Road, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital following a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Corinth and the time and date will be announced in the complete obituary that will appear in Tuesday's edition of The Post-Star. Sheridan, Norma Ford Brown FORT ANN -- Norma Ford Brown Sheridan, 81, formerly of George Street, Fort Ann, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Berkshire Medical Center following a brief illness. Born on June 2, 1923, in Stillwater, she was the daughter of the late David and Ella (Wells) Ford. She was salutatorian of her Stillwater High School graduating class. Norma had two wonderful marriages. The first was to Lt. James M. Brown, a Marine killed in action in Korea, with whom she had two children, Jim and Vicky. She later continued on with her life and in 1954 she married William Sheridan, with whom she had a daughter, Kim Elizabeth Sheridan. They shared a full and interesting life together for 46 years in Fort Ann. William died July 18, 2001. Norma was a wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family and friends. She had a neighborhood circle of loyal friends with whom she spent many wonderful times. She had resided in Fort Ann for 50 years, before becoming a resident of the Craneville Place in Dalton, Mass. Norma was a past member of the United Protestant Women's Group and the Queen Anne Senior Citizens. Besides her parents, and her two husbands, she was predeceased by three brothers, William, Girdwood, and David Ford. Survivors include three children, Vicky Brown Holley and her husband, Brian, of Niskayuna, James Brown and his wife, Christine, of South Glens Falls, and Kim Elizabeth Baker and her husband, Daniel, of Middle Granville; six grandchildren, Daniel, Joseph and Erin Baker and Jamie, Jeremy and Julie Brown; three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Ford, Luella Ford and Elizabeth Sheridan, all of Stillwater; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Mason Funeral Home, 18 George St., Fort Ann, with the Rev. Brooke Newell, pastor of the United Protestant Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at 8 p.m. The family has suggested memorials be made to the Fort Ann E.M.S., P.O. Box 237, Fort Ann, NY 12827.
