LAKE LUZERNE -- Mary E. Brodell, 61, of Call Street, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. Born on Oct. 30, 1943, in Corinth, she was the daughter of Margean Denno of Corinth and the late Thomas Denno. Mrs. Brodell graduated from Corinth High School in 1962. She married Richard E. Brodell on Sept. 24, 1966, in Corinth. The couple has resided in Lake Luzerne for 39 years. Mrs. Brodell was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Corinth for many years. She enjoyed shopping, being with her grandson, and making her home look nice, especially during the holidays. Survivors besides her mother include her loving husband of 39 years, Richard Brodell of Lake Luzerne; one daughter, Brenda Parkhurst of Lake Luzerne; one grandson, Michael Parkhurst; six sisters, Joan Woodward and her husband, Gerald, of Hadley, Barbara Morris and her husband, James, of South Carolina, Martha Maxam and her husband, Richard, of Corinth, Betty Stanton of Lake Luzerne, Shelley Games and her husband, Dan, of Corinth; two brothers, William Denno and his wife, Kathy, of Corinth, and Richard Denno and his wife, Melanie, of Corinth; her father and mother-in-law, Francis and Anna Brodell of Lake Luzerne; her godson, Edward Murray and his wife, Allison, of Liverpool; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 409 Palmer Ave., Corinth, with the Rev. Peter Nabozny officiating. A Rite of Committal will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corinth. There are no public calling hours scheduled. Flanders Sr., 53, of Route 50, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a brief courageous battle with cancer, while surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Born Dec. 28, 1951, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Leon and Gladys (Nason) Flanders. Dwight was a lifelong resident of the area and married his childhood sweetheart, Debra J. Sousie on Aug. 27, 1972. For more than 25 years, Dwight worked for New York State Department of Corrections at Mount McGregor Correctional Facility in Comstock. He spent eight years with the maintenance department before becoming a corrections officer at the prison. He also worked with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Warrensburg as a correction officer before retiring in March of 2002. Dwight was an avid outdoorsman, enjoy hunting and fishing. His garden and following NASCAR were other enjoyments. His family, grandchildren and friends will miss his famous homemade spaghetti sauce. He was a member of the NRA, Wilton Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed visiting Saratoga racino. Besides his parents, his infant brother, Lyle, died before him. Dwight leaves behind his beloved wife of 32 years, Debra Flanders of Gansevoort; his son, Dwight E. Flanders Jr. and his wife, Lisa Ann, of Gansevoort; his daughter, Sharon Lee Roseway and her husband, Sean, of Queensbury; sister, Mary Jane Othon and her husband, Tony, of Gansevoort; three grandchildren, Skyler, Paige, and Jarrett and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dwight requested that there be no calling hours or funeral services held. His family invites all friends to stop by their home anytime today, Saturday or Sunday to share memories with them. To his close friends, a heartfelt thank you for their care and support during Dwight's final weeks. Greenhill, 93, of The Glen on Meadow Brook Road, died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness. Born on Aug. 13, 1911, in Redditch, England he was the son of the late George and Clara (Moberley) Greenhill. Mr. Greenhill graduated from Troy High School in 1931. He married Jean D. Winne on Aug. 20, 1933, in Cohoes. The couple resided in Pittsfield, Mass., for 17 years, before moving to Corinth in 1951. In 1955, they then moved to the Glens Falls region, where they have lived ever since. Mr. Greenhill was employed at the Woolworth Department Store in Troy, and in Cohoes and Pittsfield, Mass., for six years. He then was employed by General Electric in Pittsfield and in Hudson Falls for 17 years, and worked for 20 years for Prudential Insurance in Glens Falls until his retirement in 1976. Mr. Greenhill was a member of the Queensbury United Methodist for many years and was a former member of Christ Methodist Church of Glens Falls. He enjoyed refinishing furniture, gardening, classical music, listening to his wife playing the piano and vacationing at Wells Beach, Maine. Besides his parents, one sister, Winifred Mudar, and one brother, Frederick Greenhill, died before him. Survivors besides his wife of 71 years include four daughters, Carol Hudson and her husband, John, of Niskayuna, Nancy Casey and her husband, Fran, of Queensbury, Barbara Eckenfelder and her husband, Donald, of Queensbury, and Joanna Bock and her husband, Dave, of Ithaca; one son, Jon Greenhill and his wife, Karen, of Boca Raton, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the United Methodist Church of Queensbury, Aviation Road, Queensbury, with the Rev. Rich Weihing, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Corinth Rural Cemetery. There are no public calling hours. The family suggests memorials take the form of donations to the Arthritis Foundation Northeastern Chapter, 1717 Central Ave., Colonie, NY 12205. McMurray, 79, of Paris Avenue, went into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2005, at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born on May 12, 1925, in South Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Leonard C. and May (Williamson) McMurray. Jean was a graduate of Glens Falls High School and in 1948 she graduated from Cobleskill Technical School. After graduation, Jean worked as a teacher in a nursery school in Pittsfield, Mass. In 1952, she began her employment at General Electric in Pittsfield and in 1957, was transferred to the Hudson Falls General Electric plant, where she worked for 13 years. Jean was a switchboard operator for 23 years at the Glens Falls Hospital, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls and the American Baptist Woman's Group. Jean also belonged to AARP and the Glens Falls Senior Citizens. Jean enjoyed going on trips with the senior citizen group, having dinner with her friends, traveling to Foxwood, Conn., and her cats, Fluffy and Butterscotch. Survivors include her two cousins who live locally, Marjorie Hunt of Greenfield Center, and Patricia Camarro, also of Greenfield Center; and many other close friends. Friends may call on Friday, (today) from 10 to 11 a.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls. Funeral Services will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls, officiating. Burial will follow later in the spring at Greenwich Cemetery in the town of Greenwich. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
