(Bullard) HUDSON FALLS -- Elaine V. (Bullard) Allen, 43, of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer, at her brother, Carl, and sister-in-law, Michele's, home at Elizabeth Street in Hudson Falls. Born on March 21, 1962, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Carl Bullard Sr. of Purcell, Okla., and Nancy LaVigne of Glens Falls. Elaine graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1980. She worked as a home health aide in the area for many years. Elaine was a nurse at heart. When her grandson, Christian was born, she helped in his delivery. At one time, Elaine was employed at Kmart in Queensbury and as a cashier for Auto Zone in Georgia. Elaine loved decorating with owls and going on car trips with her daughter, Aimee. Elaine was a tomboy by definition, enjoying fishing, camping with her family and dabbling with car repair. She was predeceased by many aunts and uncles, her maternal grandfather, Milford T. Eggleston and her paternal grandparents, William and Edith Bullard. Survivors besides her parents include her maternal grandmother, Eleanor Eggleston of Fort Edward; three children, Crystal Bullard Gaines and her husband, Mark, of Clarksville, Ga., Aimee E. Colegrove and Jeffery B. Colegrove, both of Glens Falls; two grandchildren, Christian Shubert and Caleb Gaines; her brothers and sisters, Carl A. Bullard Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Hudson Falls, Master Sgt. Keith A. Bullard and his wife, Tersea, of New Mexico, Kevin J. Bullard and his wife, Rochelle, of South Glens Falls, Kenneth J. Bullard and his wife, Missy, of Hudson Falls, and Christine M. Thompson and her husband, Michael J., of Glens Falls; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Published in the Post-Star on 4/10/2005. Ducharme, Beatrice A. "Bea" QUEENSBURY -- Miss Beatrice A. "Bea" Ducharme, 95, passed away at Eden Park Nursing Home, Saturday, April 9, 2005. Born on Aug. 10, 1909, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Lillian (Boucher) Ducharme. In 1928, Beatrice graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Glens Falls and in 1931 from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Amsterdam. She did private-duty nursing at the Glens Falls Hospital and had a private practice in the area for 50 years. Beatrice was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Two brothers, Fabian O. Ducharme and Gerald L. Ducharme, both passed away before her. Survivors include her special cousin, Gerald LaClair and his wife, Vera, both of Fort Edward. She referred to Gerald as her little brother. Other cousins reside in New York, Florida and Vermont. At Beatrice's request, no calling hours are planned. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Church on Broad Street in Glens Falls, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls, officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery on Luzerne Road in the town of Queensbury. Flack, known on the CB as Country Squire, passed away Friday, April 8, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. Leon was born on Feb. 26, 1938, in Poultney, Vt., the son of Frank and Bertha (Shepard) Flack. Leon worked at Sheldon Slate as a slate splitter for 21 years. He was a 37-year member of the Henry Hose Fire Department and served as captain of the Granville Fire Police. He was also a member of the Washington County Fire Police. Over the years, Leon had worked as a part-time police officer for the Granville Police Department. Leon was predeceased by a brother, Robert Flack; his parents; and his stepmother, Theresa Flack. Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Roberts) Flack; a son, Brian Flack and his wife, Tina, of Longmont, Colo.; three daughters: Sue Gandrow of Hague, Melinda Halloway of Florida and Kim Flack of Granville; a stepdaughter, Christine Krawczyk; a sister, Betty Dolback and her husband, Edward, of Crown Point; three brothers: David Flack and Edwin Flack, both of Ticonderoga and Clayton Flack of Chambersburg, Pa.; and two stepbrothers, Scott Flack of Keesville and Norman Flack of Brandon, Vt. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Robert M. Foote, Ralph Wilton NORTH CREEK -- Ralph Wilton Foote, 86, of 62 Walter Foote Road, passed away Friday, April 8, 2005, at the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, North Creek. Born Sept. 10, 1919, in North Creek, town of Chester, he was the son of Walter Douglas and Rose Mary (Goodspeed) Foote. Ralph graduated from Pottersville Central School Class of 1939. On Nov. 25, 1942, Ralph was inducted into the Army Air Corps. He received his honorable discharge on Feb. 13, 1946. He was in the 965 Echelon, Mech. Auto Wheel Veh. 3. He qualified with the M1 and MKM 158. He received the American Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal. The interesting note is, that Ralph only had one eye; he lost the eyesight in his right eye when he was a young lad. He used to tell that when took the eye test to enter the military, he peeked through the fingers to read the eye chart. After military service and like many other Adirondack boys, he returned to the mountains and the love of the outdoors. Ralph liked to fish, but hunting was at the top of the list. He was a charter member of the Ragged Mt. Fish and Game Club, also a former member of the Glendale Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of Pottersville. During his employment career, he worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He worked for Blue Ridge Lumber Co., North Hudson, N.Y., North Creek Trucking Co., North Creek. He worked on construction for L. Mayersen & Lone, Lane Construction Co., S.J. Grooves, Callahan Construction Co., and others while construction of the Plattsburgh air base, Gilboa Dam and the Northway were being built. Mr. Foote is predeceased by his parents and brothers, George Foote, Leonard (Bob) Foote, and Edward Foote; sisters, Henrietta Murphy and Beatrice Owens. Survivors include, a longtime companion, Leta Moulton; nephews and nieces, Robert Foote and his wife, Vivian, of Minerva, Philip Foot of North Creek, Brian Foote and his companion, Bonnie Bisaillon of North Creek, June A. Born on Dec. 12, 1924, Jim was the son of the late William and Reba (Varnum) Guy of South Glens Falls. He joined the U.S. Navy after Pearl Harbor at the age of 17. He served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres as a signalman 3rd class. He married Sona Attarian in Albany in 1946. They moved to Glens Falls in 1951. Jim worked as a mechanic but was better known as a bowling alley mechanic and a television repairman and 35 years as a Little League coach until he retired. Dad's hobbies included playing cards with his dearest friends, watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their athletic competitions, and vacations. Dad's greatest love was for his wife, Sona, who passed away Sept. 14, 2003. He longed to be back with his wife of 57 years. Today he told us he will be happy he is back with her. Together they prepare to receive their children. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Barbara Ovitt and Beverly Duchaine. He is survived by his daughters, Michele Ciuffo of Glens Falls and Katherine S. Guy of Glens Falls; his sons, James M. Guy II and his wife, Debbie, Timothy E. Guy and his wife, Michelle, and Richard J. Guy of Glens Falls; adopted children, Norma Quintos and her husband, Andy, and Edward J. Burt II and his wife, Candy; grandchildren: Alfonso Ciuffo, James G. Ciuffo and his wife, Lisa, James M. Guy III and his wife, Michele, Micki Guy and her wife, Wendy, Jeffrey C. Guy and his wife, Vicki, Sona Guy, Krystal Quinlan and her husband, Tim, Stephanie Guy and her fiance, Eric Fish, Heidi Anderson and her husband, Kyle, and Tara Zido; great-grandchildren: Brittney E. Holmes, Mary Jane Moreau -- Mary Jane Holmes, 73, of Fort Edward Road, died Saturday morning, April 9, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness. Born April 25, 1931, Bayside, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Anton A. and Minna (Dolecal) Mattson. Mary Jane graduated from Bayside High School in January 1949, and attended Long Island Agricultural and Technical College at Farmingdale, where she studied floriculture and horticulture. There she met her future husband, Ronald A. Holmes, who was in the animal husbandry program. They were married on Oct. 28, 1951. Mr. Holmes passed away on Aug. 19, 1996. Since moving to the Glens Falls area in 1969, Mary Jane had worked as a bookkeeper, a home health aide, and was retired from her last job as a teacher's aide at Moreau Elementary School. Mary Jane's hobbies included her extensive doll and teddy bear collections. She was an avid mystery novel fan, and passed her love of books on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working on the daily "Jumble" and crossword puzzles in the newspaper. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her sister, Nancy Brunelle, and her brother-in-law, Frank Porcaro. Survivors include her daughter, Susan L. Holmes, with whom she resided; her sons, Eric B. Holmes and his wife, Jennifer, of Liverpool, N.Y., and Jeffrey A. Holmes and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Bozeman, Mont.; her brother, Robert A. Mattson and his wife, Edie, of Riverview, Fla.; her sister, Judith Porcaro of Argyle; her brother-in-law, Normand Brunelle of Glen Cove, N.Y.; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth J. (Holmes) Snyder of Pompano Beach, Fla.; she also leaves behind her beloved granddaughters, Elisabeth, Sarah and Ashley Holmes, all of Liverpool; her grandsons, Wyatt and Jason Holmes of Bozeman; her grand-bassets, Cleo and Daisie; her grand-cats, Spooky, Little Guy, Kirby, Wilbur and Poppy; and many nieces and nephews. Jones, Dorothy Holland HOOSICK FALLS -- Dorothy Holland Jones, 71, died peacefully Friday, April 8, 2005, at Hoosick Falls Health Center, where she has been a resident since 2001. Born in Danby, Vt., on Sept. 4, 1933, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ruth (Brown) Holland. Dorothy and her husband, Jimmie, worked in the hotel industry in the West Palm Beach area for many years. After Jimmie's death, Dorothy returned to the Cambridge area and last worked for TLC of Glens Falls. Dorothy was affiliated with the South Cambridge Methodist Church and also enjoyed the church services at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. Dorothy is survived by one sister, Helen Pratt of South Cambridge; and several nieces and nephews. Marino, 80, of Point Pleasant, N.J., died Friday, April 8, 2005, at Laurelton Village Health Center, Brick, N.J. He was born in Queensbury and raised in Glens Falls, moving to Point Pleasant in 1955. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Marino worked as a painter in the shore area for many years and was a member of the Point Pleasant Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 1549. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen Burke Marino, in 1975; and two brothers, Sammy, who was killed in World War II, and Dominick. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Laura Leonard of Glens Falls and Bonnie Morton of Glens Falls; his brother, Patrick Marino of Glens Falls; three sisters, Jennie Celeste of Hudson Falls, Louise Fratine of Las Vegas, Nev., and Milly Baldo of Carmel, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Moon, 67, of Warren Lane, Queensbury, and formerly of Lake George, passed away Thursday evening, April 7, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital, following a short illness. Born July 14, 1937, in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late Jesse "Foster" and Golda M. (Barrett) Moon. Being raised in the Lake George area, he attended Lake George School systems. He worked dedicated hours most of his life at various places of employment throughout the area, with Glens Falls Hospital being one of his most recent jobs, working in the housekeeping department, retiring in 1992. "Bubby," as he was fondly known to many, had the opportunity to travel the countryside, with Florida being one of his most favorite states. He also loved to fish, listen to country music, raise Cain, and looked forward to a good cup of coffee, or two, at Bill's Restaurant in Warrensburg amongst his many friends and acquaintances he met there on a daily basis. His friends and family will forever miss him and his great sense of humor. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Lester Moon, a sister, Barbara Hayes, and a niece, Barbara Moon. Survivors include one brother, Clifton Moon Sr. of Lake George; many nieces and nephews, with special mention to Clifton Moon Jr., Rodney Moon, and Sissy Rosa; some cousins; many dear friends; and his buddy Sporter, the dog. Kay was born on Sept. 25, 1932, in Granville, the daughter of George and Esther (Ely) Andrews. Kay was retired from Sherwood Medical, where she had worked for 38 years. She enjoyed working, playing hand-held games, watching cooking shows, country music, and spending time with her family. Kay was predeceased by a son, George Van Guilder, and two brothers, George Andrews Jr. and David Andrews; her paternal grandparents, David and Rose Andrews; and maternal grandparents, Frank and Agnes Ely. Kay is survived by a son, Mark Smith and his longtime companion, Phyllis Mercure, of Granville; a stepson, August Smith Jr. and his wife, Debbie; two daughters, Kathy Dirga and her husband, Andy, of Granville, and Susan Devino of Glens Falls; four brothers: Raymond Andrews of Hebron, Richard Andrews and his wife, Virginia, Daniel Andrews of Hebron and Aden Andrews; and three sisters, Beverly Priest of Granville, Barbara Loveland and her husband, Gordan, of Tennessee, and Marjorie Catellier and her husband, Dale, of Fueva Brush. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Travis Smith, Roy Lee Fifield II, Andrew Dirga, Melissa Williams, Carrie Smith, Stephen Bullock, Sonya Devino and Megan Devino; five great- grandchildren: Karleigh Smith, Katie Smith, Mara Smith, Pamela Williams and Brittney Williams; and several nieces, nephews and aunts. "Betty" MIDDLETOWN and QUEENSBURY -- Frances "Betty" E. Steeley, 86, of Middletown and most recently of Queensbury, joined our Lord on Thursday evening, April 7, 2005, while residing at Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury. Born June 12, 1918, in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Ethel (Gardener) Fish. Following high school graduation, Betty furthered her education with a bachelor's degree at Alfred University, graduating Class of 1941. Betty was an intregal part of Middletown, being a longtime member and treasurer of the Middletown Unitarian Universalist Church; a member and treasurer of Middletown Business and Professional Women's Association; a volunteer for numerous community functions, with special mention to her dedication of endless hours at Middletown's Horton Hospital Accounting Department. Betty was also an avid bowler and card player, and was a great lover of animals. Her employment was with Fleet Bank in the Middletown area for many years until her retirement, which led her to travel extensively both in the U.S. and abroad. She always had her suitcase packed ready to go anywhere with dear friends at a moment's notice. Many friends she had indeed, which will, with her family, miss the twinkle in her eye, her smile, sense of humor, and kindness she shared with everyone who crossed her path. Besides her parents, her husband, Richard Steeley, predeceased her. Survivors include her family, who she was so very proud of: two sons, Tom Congalosi and his wife, Marie, of Danville, Ky., and Don Steeley of Simi Valley, Calif.; one daughter, Dolores Steeley of Clifton Park; and four grandchildren, Peter Congalosi, Michael Steeley, and Darren and Megan Miles.
