QUEENSBURY -- Pamela S. Bannon, 37, of Petrie Lane, Queensbury, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 22, 2005. Born Dec. 15, 1967, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. Bannon and Jeannette P. (King) Bannon of Glens Falls. Being raised in Queensbury, she attended and graduated from Queensbury High School, Class of 1986. She furthered her education by attending Adirondack Community College. For many years, she worked for Price Chopper Food Stores, both in Queensbury and Glens Falls, mainly as a clerk, and most recently at The Sagamore resort in Bolton Landing, with the housekeeping department. Pamela had an outgoing personality who loved being around people, with never an idle moment. She was constantly on the go, enjoying bingo with her mom, roller-skating with her daughter at Skateland, now known as the Fun Spot, cross-stitching, playing cards, especially canasta, with her friends, bike riding, and absolutely loved going to Friendly's restaurant by the Aviation Mall. She was also a great animal lover, especially of Kloe, her daughter's dog, and of Munchkin and Ginger, her sister's cats, whom she would hunt down and make of, every time she visited her sister's home. Above all, she truly loved and cherished her only child, her daughter, Ashley Ann, who will miss her greatly. Besides her father, Samuel S. Bannon, who passed away in 1976, her paternal grandparents, Edward and Agnes (Sanders) Bannon, and maternal grandparents, Albert and Beatrice (Stockdale) King, also predeceased her. Survivors include her mother, Jeannette Bannon of Glens Falls; her daughter, Ashley Ann Rivers of Hudson Falls; five brothers: Les Bannon and his wife, Maggie, of Hartford, Joseph Bannon of Hudson Falls, Thomas Bannon and his girlfriend, Martha Madden, of Queensbury, Fredrick Bannon, also of Queensbury, and Edward Bannon and his wife, Carolyn, of South Glens Falls; two sisters, Cynthia Davis and her husband, John, of Glens Falls, and Debra King and her husband, Frederick, of Hudson Falls; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends, with special mention of Dawn Kineke, Stacey Mayer, and Violet Hyatt. At Pamela's request, calling hours and funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. Edie, John Joseph "Jack" QUEENSBURY -- John "Jack" Joseph Edie, 82, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Fort Hudson Nursing Home, Fort Edward, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born Feb. 12, 1923, in the town of Greenwich, to Henry J. and Katherine Grace (O'Connor) Edie. Jack grew up in the village of Hudson Falls, graduating from Hudson Falls High School in 1940. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on Nov. 8, 1945 as an Electrician's Mate Third Class. Jack later began a long career with the New York Telephone Company, retiring in 1985, after over 30 years of employment. He married June Mary Bishop on Aug. 22, 1943, at St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls. They lived in Hudson Falls, Glens Falls, South Glens Falls and Queensbury, before moving to Fort Hudson Nursing Home in August 2003. He was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, Queensbury, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge No. 81, New York Telephone Pioneers and past member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brother, Henry J. Edie Jr. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife, Ellen, of Pinehurst, N.C., and Gary and his wife, Mary Anne, of Queensbury; his grandson, Shawn, of Dartmouth, Mass.; and his granddaughter, Courtney, of Clifton Park. Jack's family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Daniel C. Jordan, Mildred "Millie" QUEENSBURY and LAKE GEORGE -- Mildred "Millie" Jordan, 86, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2005, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. Born on April 26, 1918, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Louis Rizzo and Angelina (Scazafava) Rizzo, one of eight children. Millie was raised in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, where she met and married Daniel Jordan on June 22, 1938. In the 1950s, she and Danny owned and operated a restaurant and bar in Brooklyn until moving to Lake George in 1961. Together, Millie and Danny owned and operated Danny Jordan's Neapolitan Cuisine and the Stewart Arms Hotel on Canada Street in Lake George. Later, they owned and operated DJ's Night Club, Papa Wow's Restaurant and the Villager Motor Inn. In their retirement years, Millie and Danny spent their winters in Pompano Beach, Fla., and their summers in Lake George. Millie was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Lake George for many years. She loved spending time with her family, was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching old movies. Millie especially enjoyed being with her great-grandchildren, who brought her much joy. Millie was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Danny Jordan; daughter-in-law, Grace Jordan; three brothers, Tony, Joey, and Paulie Rizzo; and two sisters, Mary Bruno and Connie DiGuiseppi. She is survived by her son, Louis Jordan of Queensbury; a daughter, Rosetta Kelly and her husband, Frank, of Staten Island; one sister, Rose LaCirasella and her husband, Richard, of Staten Island; one brother, Salvatore Rizzo and his wife, Marie, of Plain View, Long Island; five grandchildren: Daniel Jordan and his wife, Lisa, of Greenwich, Debbie Jordan of Lake George, Lisa Iraci and her husband, Roy, of Staten Island, Frank Kelly and his wife, Danielle, of Staten Island, and Thomas Jordan of Key West, Fla; and 10 great- grandchildren: Joshua, Christina, and Elias Jordan of Greenwich, Frank Mineo of Queensbury and Jordana Mineo of Lake George, Lisa and Ashley Rose Iraci of Staten Island, Frank, Brianna and Madison Kelly of Staten Island; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kingsley, 82, of Stark Road, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Stanton Nursing Centre in Queensbury, following a long illness. Born on June 22, 1922, in Adirondack, he was the son of the late Forrest and Kathleen (Buzzwell) Kingsley. Mr. Kingsley attended Corinth High School. He joined the United States Navy in 1942, serving during World War II until his discharge in 1945. Mr. Kingsley married Florence M. Montello on May 30, 1944, in Corinth. The couple resided in Corinth for 60 years. He first owned and operated Merton's Hill Ski Center in Corinth for five years. Along with his wife, he then owned and operated Kingsley's Market in Corinth for 34 years until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Kingsley was a longtime member of the New York State Food Merchants Association and served on the board of directors for a few years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge No. 161 B.P.O.E. of Saratoga Springs for many years, and owned several horses which he raced at the Saratoga Harness Track for several years. Mr. Kingsley enjoyed skiing, bowling, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends. Besides his parents, one sister, Helen Milligan, died before him. Survivors besides his wife of 60 years include one son, David L. Kingsley of Corinth; three grandchildren, Michael Kingsley and his wife, Leisha, of Corinth, Matthew Kingsley and his wife, Traci, of Corinth and Jodi-Lynn Nelson and her husband, Richard, of Greenfield Center; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Jensen Kingsley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth, with the members of the Horace D. Washburn American Legion Post 533 of Corinth, officiating. Burial will be at Chester Rural Cemetery, Chestertown, at the convenience of the family. Published in the Post-Star on 4/24/2005. Pockett, Lee John TICONDEROGA -- Lee John Pockett, 85, of Wayne Avenue, passed away Friday, April 22, 2005, at Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga. Born in Fair Haven, Vt., Feb. 11, 1920, he was the son of the late James and Carrie (Manchester) Pockett. Mr. Pockett was a graduate of Fair Haven High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Years ago, Lee was a standout athlete, having played softball in Ticonderoga for the EMBA Softball League, and semi-pro football for the Whitehall Pachyderms. Mr. Pockett moved to Ticonderoga from Whitehall in 1950. He was employed by the International Paper Co. of Ticonderoga for 33 years, before his retirement in 1982, and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club. He also was a volunteer ambulance driver for the Ticonderoga Emergency Squad for many years. Mr. Pockett was predeceased by his first wife, Paulina (Lamphron) Pockett, in 1955, and by his second wife, Susan (Cioppa) Pockett, in 2001. He was also predeceased by three brothers, Roscoe Pockett, Albert Pockett and James Pockette. Survivors include his four children: Carol Perry and her husband, Carl, of Ticonderoga; Paul Pockett and his wife, Patricia, of Ticonderoga; Lynn Widawski of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jim Pockett and his wife, Jaci, of Ticonderoga; one sister, Alice Longtin of Fort Edward; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Charlton of Ticonderoga and Herbie Pockette of Fair Haven, Vt. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will take place at the family plot of St. Mary's Parish Cemetery of Ticonderoga, at the convenience of the family. Potter, Lillian Noble CAMBRIDGE u Lillian Noble Potter, 71, of Ash Grove Road, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at her home after a long illness. She was the widow of Stephen Potter, who died in 1995. Born April 9, 1934, in New York City, she was the daughter of Francis and Camilla Edwards Noble. She attended Nightingale-Bamford School in New York City, Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Conn., and received her bachelor's degree from Wheelock College in Boston. Lillian and Stephen were married June 8, 1963, in New York City, where they lived and raised their family until moving full-time to their summer home in Cambridge in 1982. She was a member of the Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City, and served there as a deacon, elder, teacher and volunteer. A passionate educator all her life, Lillian taught in schools in Levittown, Pa., at Nightingale-Bamford School in New York City and at Albany Academy for Girls in Albany. She tutored numerous students privately and informally. She also taught Sunday school and directed pageants and special programs at the Brick Church and the First Congregational Church in Williamstown, Mass. After retiring from teaching, Lillian worked at the Northshire Bookstore in Manchester, Vt., and at Battenkill Books in Cambridge. She was a volunteer educator at the Bennington Museum in Bennington, Vt. Music was a great passion all her life. She met her husband while both were performing Gilbert and Sullivan with the Blue Hill Troupe in New York City. She was a singer and board member of the Bennington County Choral Society; a volunteer with the Bennington Children's Chorus and a member of the choir at the First Congregational Church in Williamstown. Children's books and stories were a great interest which she was always willing to share with anyone. She was a driving force in creating the library at the First Congregational Church. She somehow found time for other interests including Ukrainian egg dyeing and other arts and crafts. Lillian's greatest joys came from her family and wide circle of friends, who were a comfort to her during her long illness. She was predeceased by a sister, Frances Noble Smith, who died in 2001. Survivors include her two sons and their wives: Jonathan and Julie Potter of Brattleboro, Vt., and Timothy and Leslie Potter of Pittsfield, Mass.; two brothers: William L. Noble and his wife, Jennifer, and Timothy E. Noble, all of New York City; a brother-in-law, Howard Potter and his wife, Ellen, of Niantic, Conn.; three grandchildren, Peter Trapnell, Marielle Holbrook and Margot Elizabeth Potter, who was born April 12, 2005; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating the life of Lillian Noble Potter will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at the First Congregational Church, 906 Main St., Williamstown, Mass. Donations in Mrs. Potter's memory may be made to Southwestern Vermont Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Drive, Bennington, VT 05201; Bennington County Choral Society, P.O.
