VICTORY MILLS -- Albert W. Bullard, 68, a resident of Evans Street, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital. Born Sept. 25, 1936, in Corinth, he was the son of Arthur and Esther Brown Bullard. Mr. Bullard was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from the Local 12 Ironworkers in Albany, where he had worked for many years. Mr. Bullard was an honorary member of the David Nevins Fire Department and was a ham radio operator. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Suzanne Warner Bullard of Victory Mills; his daughter, Loni Foote and her husband, Robert, of Schuylerville; two brothers, Arthur Bullard and James Boyce of Greenwich; one stepsister, June Waldron of South Glens Falls; three grandchildren: Robert Jr., Samantha, and Albert Lukas Foote, all of Schuylerville; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, with the Rev. Janet Vincent officiating. Freiberger Jr., John MECHANICVILLE -- John Freiberger Jr., 85, of North Main Street, Mechanicville, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Samuel Stratton Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany, following a brief illness. Born Dec. 3, 1919, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Habb Freiberger Sr. His family and friends will remember John as Georgia's loving and devoted husband. Georgia died in 1988. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, John was an instructor for the cooks and bakers school. He was past commander of the American Legion Post in Speculator, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, a devoted den leader for the Boy Scouts of America. and a former member of the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department, continuing the families long-standing tradition of emergency services. John was a former district route manager for Pleasant Valley Meat Packing Co., following the family tradition shared by his father and brother of meat cutting. He is survived by two sons, John (Janice) Freiberger III of Macedon, N.Y., and Lance (Charlene) Freiberger of Stillwater; one daughter, Sheila (George) Harms Jackson of Sarasota, Fla.; one brother, Gus (Polly) Freiberger of Malta; seven grandsons: John IV, James Francis, Joseph Konrad, Mark Andrew, Stephen James Freiberger, Michael August and Bryan Edward Harms; two great- granddaughters: Samantha and Sydney Freiberger; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Katherine Pettigrew. His children and grandchildren will cherish their memories and always know they have been touched by his loving and nurturing ways. He gave so much and asked for so little in return. We will miss you Dad (Grampy John), but you will be in our hearts forever. Kretzer, Lillian Jean (Webster) LUMBERTON, N.C. -- Lillian Jean (Webster) Kretzer, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2005, at a nursing home in Lumberton, N.C., after a long illness. Born Jan. 28, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lillian (Gordon) Webster. Lillian was born and raised in Whitehall. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also crocheted as a pastime and enjoyed playing poker. Besides her parents, two brothers and two sisters died before her. Survivors include her children: three daughters, Linda Buedecker and her husband, Rick, of Lumberton, N.C., Dawn Sandford and her husband, Donnie, from Florida, and Angie Pharhol and her husband, John, from Delaware; three sons, Harold Kretzer and his wife, Laurie, from Spring Lake, N.C., Joseph Kretzer and Theodore Kretzer, both from Texas; four sisters: Shirley Schaff and her husband, Fred, of Fort Edward, Doris Olcott and her husband, Ron, of Ticonderoga, Geraldine McDonald and her husband, Stanley, of Whitehall, and Anne Ritchie and her husband, Mike, of Hampton; two brothers, Ernest Webster and his wife, Joann, of Fort Ann, and Robert Webster of Hudson Falls; and very special friends, Gary Kretzer and his wife, Darlene, of West Granville. Mason, Marie Ruth TOWN OF GREENFIELD -- Marie Ruth Mason, of Tannery Hill Road, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital. She was 51. Born on Jan. 13, 1954, in Whitehall, she was a daughter of Ruth Paddock and the late Edward Dennis. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, friends, animals and demolition derby competition at county fairs. Survivors include her companion of 24 years, Sheridan Ramsey Sr.; her sons, Shawn Mason and his wife, Mary Anne, and Edward Mason and his wife, Lora, all of Corinth and Sheridan Ramsey Jr., of Porter Corners; three daughters, Tonya Ramsey of Porter Corners, Eugina Ramsey and Sherry Ramsey, both of Ballston Spa; five sisters: Debbie Bell of Gansevoort, Brenda and Francine Luse, Nancy Rogers of Dallas, Texas, and Tammy Salvia of Greenfield; two brothers, Michael Dennis of Malta and Frank Luse Jr. of Round Lake; 10 grandchildren: Edward Mason Jr., Jonathan Mason, Jessica Bishop, Kasandra, Mike and Christopher Duffney, all of Corinth; Sarah Olley of Titusville, Fla., Norah Olley of Middle Grove, Katlyn and Derik Harrington, both of Ballston Spa. Published in the Post-Star on 4/29/2005. Shultz, David McMurray QUEENSBURY -- David McMurray Shultz, 59, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness. Born Dec. 14, 1945, in Portland, Ore., he was the son of Reginald F. Shultz and Arzelia H. (Brian) Shultz. He did a tour of duty in Vietnam as an Army medic and later he served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a jet aircraft mechanic. Dave married Doris "Dee" Ciezenski on Oct. 6, 1989. He was a skilled carpenter and he also worked as an emergency medical technician. Dave had a great love of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, camping and trips to the ocean. He also enjoyed watching professional boxing and was a big Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He was always making people laugh with his great sense of humor. His father, Reginald F. Shultz, died before him. Survivors include his wife, Dee Shultz of Queensbury; his mother, Arzelia "Zee" Shultz of Queensbury; two daughters, Renee Beyerbach and her husband, Bob, of Queensbury, and Amie Shultz of Fort Edward; one stepdaughter, Arlene Skeen of Myersville, Md.; one stepson, Joseph Myers of New Port Richey, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Brian, Bryce and Annalise Beyerbach, Kyle, Jahmal and Maylease Shultz, and Alex Myers. He will be missed by his good friends, Jeff Henderson, Tom Woodell, Bob Beckerly, and the Weeks family. He is also survived by several cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved pets, Willie, his cat and Buddy, his dog. Dave's wishes to participate in the anatomical gift program of Albany Medical College have been fulfilled. Smith, Earl Harvey LEESBURG, Fla. -- Earl Harvey Smith, 88, of Leesburg, Fla., passed away Saturday, April 23, 2005, in Leesburg, Fla. Born July 13, 1916, in Argyle, he was the son of Harry Smith and Ruby (Williamson) Smith. He was the owner of several businesses, Suburban Gas Service, Suburban Water Softeners, and Hartford Manufacturing. Earl was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Hartford, N.Y. He moved from Queensbury to Leesburg, Fla. in 1987. Survivors include his wife, Dian Hilmes Smith of Leesburg, Fla.; a daughter, Carolyn Smith Agenjo of West Islip, N.Y.; a son, Donald Earl Smith of Placerville, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Janice Clough Tindall of Gap, Pa.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
