Born in Ticonderoga, April 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Clarence H. and Dora V. (Noel) Carr. Nancy was raised in Ticonderoga before moving to Crown Point. She was a graduate of Crown Point High School. She was employed in the Activities Department of the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga for more than 20 years. She was an active R.S.V.P. member of Crown Point and enjoyed gardening and reading. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jack Carr and Wesley Bob Carr. Survivors include one son, Charles Lee Swinton and his wife, Fawn, of Ticonderoga; one daughter, Kelly Lee Swinton of Ticonderoga; one brother, Thomas J. Carr and his wife, Sherry, of Ticonderoga; one sister, Norma Barry, of Gloversville; three granddaughters: Ember Lynn Swinton, Vanessa M. Fuller and Alisha M. Fuller; one grandson, Charles T. Swinto; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Prudence Bertolino, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. Kaufmann, Carolyn Weill North River -- Carolyn Weill Kaufmann, 88, cherished wife of the late Ted Kaufmann, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 28, 2005. Born in New York City, she graduated from Pine Manor Junior College. Carolyn studied ballet and opera singing and cultivated a lifelong love of music and the arts. While the family lived in Roslyn, N.Y., she was an inspiring Brownie and Girl Scout leader. Throughout her life, she was adopted by folks of all ages as a surrogate mother. She and Ted began their winter pilgrimages to the North Creek Ski Bowl in the early 1940s. They bought their home, Bewilderness, in 1967 and retired there in 1978. Carolyn immediately became active in local organizations, donating her time, efforts and famous punch at countless community events, including the Johnsburg Historical Society, the Audubon Society, the White Water Races, River Beautification Project, the Upper Hudson Environmental Group, the North River Fire Department as well as the American Society of Dowsers, national and local chapters. Carolyn lived an incredibly full and impassioned life, beloved by her family, giving us all adoration and encouragement, doing generous things for everyone who knew her and living her dream in the wooded beauty of Bewilderness. She will be profoundly missed by her daughters, Kate Hickok Feldman and husband, John; Julie Kaufmann; Deborah Kaufmann and husband, Garry Nichols; her grandchildren: Heather Hickok Ferguson, Andrew Hickok and Rafer Nichols; her nieces, Robby Lynn Patterson and Joan Feigus and her ever extending family. To honor this elegant and gracious hostess, who always made everyone feel at home, her family will celebrate her life and share memories at an Open House from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Tannery Pond Community Center, Main Street, North Creek. Losgar, 48, of Mud Street, left all those who loved her dearly, Saturday evening, July 30, 2005, at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born July 9, 1957, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Jeanette (Crete) Holmes. Cindy was a lifelong resident of the area and worked with Boston Scientific Corp. in Glens Falls before taking ill three years ago. Full of life, Cindy loved the outdoors and was especially fond of sharing moments and memories with her family and friends. Besides her parents, her son, Terry L. Morehouse, also predeceased her. She leaves behind her husband, Joseph Losgar of Athol; her son, Michael Morehouse and his wife, Samantha, of South Glens Falls; six sisters: Gail Peer of Fort Ann, Jean Holmes of Glens Falls, Carol Porter and her husband, Donald, of Fort Ann, Christine Wilkinson and her husband, Ernest, of Fort Edward, June Fish and her husband, Kenneth, of Fort Edward, and Lucille Munger and her husband, Larry, of Colorado; two brothers, Roy Walkup of Glens Falls and Donald Holmes of Fort Ann; two stepchildren, Joseph Losgar of Connecticut and Tina Losgar of Long Island; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. (Rabida) Michel, 93, formerly of Corinth, died Sunday, July 31, 2005, at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa following a long illness. Born on Jan. 12, 1912, in Berlin, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Albert) Long. Mrs. Michel graduated from Berlin High School in 1930. She married Alfred "Pete" Rabida on Nov. 17, 1930, in Berlin, N.H. The couple moved to Corinth and resided there for many years. He died March 16, 1971, following 40 years of marriage. She then married Harold Michel on Nov. 7, 1981. He died on Jan. 31, 1986. Mrs. Michel was first employed as a waitress in Berlin, N.H., and also worked at the Woolworth Store in Berlin for a few years. After moving to Corinth, she worked as a waitress for many years at the Encore Restaurant and at Gradys Restaurant. Mrs. Michel was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Corinth for many years, and while she lived in Saratoga Springs, attended St. Peter's Church. She was a former member of the Corinth Emergency Squad Auxiliary and the Adirondack Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Michel enjoyed playing cards and traveling. Besides her husbands and her parents, one son, Alfred "Pete" Rabida Jr., eight brothers and four sisters all died before her. Survivors include four granddaughters: Cheryl Kussius and her husband, Bruce, of Corinth, Brenda Schermerhorn and her husband, Lane, of Corinth, M. Sue Brenner and her husband, David, of Littleton, Colo., and Lisa Hoffman and her husband, John, of Corinth; two grandsons, Pete Rabida and his wife, Betsy of Queensbury, and Dennis Rabida of Rochelle Park, N.J.; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Rabida of Corinth; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 409 Palmer Ave., Corinth, with the Rev. Charles Gaffigan, pastor, officiating. BALLSTON SPA -- Margaret A. Powers, 57, of Ballston Spa, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital Born Dec. 15, 1947, in Queens, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Leslie Morandini. She was a homemaker and enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, cooking, as well as spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Gerard Powers of Ballston Spa, and Edward Powers and his wife, Christina, of Gansevoort; a daughter, Christine Powers and her fianc‚, Joseph Booth, of Ballston Spa; two granddaughters, Deanna Sutherland and Emily Ann Powers; two sisters, Dorothy Juchem of Long Island, and Marie Wytak of Queens; stepfather, Frank Davis of Long Island; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 73 Midline Road, Ballston Lake. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. Roy, Marie Josephine Cambridge u Marie Josephine Roy, 85, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2005, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vt., surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Paul E. Roy of Cambridge. Born Monday, April 5, 1920, in Leeds, England, she was the daughter of Leonard and Agatha (Parcel) Turner. Marie was raised in Arras, France, and returned to England at the onset of World War II. On Feb. 14, 1945, at Leeds Cathedral, Marie and Paul were married. She returned with him to the United States and lived first in Bennington and then moved to Cambridge, where they raised their family. At the age of 45, Marie returned to the classroom and completed her training as a licensed practical nurse at the Mary McClellan Nursing School. The oldest in her class, she was proud to be the Valedictorian of her class. She worked at Mary McClellan Hospital until her retirement in 1980. She loved traveling and quilting and spent many of her retirement years doing both. She was an original member of the Pieceful Valley Quilters. Marie was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Auxilary of Captain Maxson Post No. 684 of the American Legion. Along with her husband of 60 years, Marie is survived by four children, Patricia Molinaro of North Attelboro, Mass., John P. Roy of Greensboro, N.C., Jean Roy of Clifton Park, and William Roy of Round Lake; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Rudinsky, Corleta Veronica GLENS FALLS -- Corleta Veronica Rudinsky, 87, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital. She was born Feb. 16, 1918, in Hudson Falls. Corleta married Joseph F. Rudinsky on March 17, 1945, in Hudson Falls, and moved to Glens Falls, where she lived the remainder of her life. Mrs. Rudinsky worked for Bendix Aircraft in New Jersey during World War II. She also worked as a home health aide in the Glens Falls area. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing along with the "Wheel of Fortune" TV program and computer solitaire card games. Corleta was predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. Rudinsky; a son, Thomas Noel Rudinsky, also died before her. Survivors include three sons: Joseph F. Rudinsky Jr. and his wife, Christina, of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Roger Rudinsky of Chicago, Ill., Martin Rudinsky and his wife, Anne, of Buxton, Maine; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Singleton-Healy Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury. Skelton, Floyd Eugene Granville -- Floyd Eugene Skelton passed away unexpectedly at his home in Granville, on Saturday, July 30, 2005. Floyd was born on April 30, 1938, in Fort Edward, the son of the late John Glenn Skelton and Reba (Watrous) Skelton. Floyd was currently employed at Telescope Casual Furniture, where he had been a dedicated employee. He had previously spent much of his life as a quarry worker for Ponda Slate, Western Slate and Ritchie Bros. Slate. Floyd enjoyed taking coffee breaks at both Scotties Coffee Shop and McDonald's. He loved the time he spent with his wife of 46 years, his daughters and grandchildren. Floyd enjoyed scratch-off lottery tickets and had become a recent NASCAR fan. In addition to his parents, Floyd was predeceased by two brothers, Fernly Skelton and Orin Skelton. Survivors are his wife, Mary Lou (Bogart) Skelton, whom he married in 1959; three daughters: Tina Skelton and her friend, Adam, of Florida, Carol Rizzo and her husband, Mike, and Cynthia Johnson and her husband, Ray, all of Granville; three brothers: Bernice Skelton of Wells, Vt., Elton Skelton and his wife, Eleanor, of Granville and Samuel Skelton of Texas; six grandchildren: Jason Bolks of Minnesota, Megan and Corey Rizzo, Damon Casey, Quinn Johnson and Damon's brother, Billy, all of Granville. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville. Burial will follow at the Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Granville. Friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
