GREENFIELD CENTER -- Tracy S. Allen, 34, of Comstock Road, and formerly of Fort Edward, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 31, 1971, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Kevin and Leona (Shortsleeves) Daly of Owensboro, Ky., and formerly of Fort Edward. She married Edward C. Allen on Aug. 5, 1995, in South Glens Falls. The couple have resided in Greenfield for several years. Tracy was the proud owner of B.E.T.S. Towing. She was full of life and loved being with her family, and enjoyed crocheting as a pastime. Survivors, besides her husband of 10 years and her parents include three sons, Jeremy Fosmer, and Douglas and Dale Deuel; two sisters, Nichole Daly of Owensboro, Ky. and Crystal Harris and her husband, Jamey, of Jefferson, Ga.; her mother-in-law, Edith Allen of Greenfield Center; four sisters-in-law, Crystal Palmateer and her husband, Ricky, of Ballston Spa, Debbie Wetherby and her husband, Glen, of Corinth, Tonjua Mann and her husband, Jon, of Corinth and Sandra Christenson and her husband, Rick, of Schuylerville; two brothers-in-law, Cleon Allen Jr. and his wife, Louise, of Greenfield Center and Warren Allen of Greenfield Center; her paternal grandparents, Cathy and Tim Daly of Fort Edward; one maternal stepgrandfather, Al Pollock of Cossayuna; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth with the Rev. Steven Van Dixhorn, pastor of the Pine Knolls Alliance Church of South Glens Falls, officiating. Friends may call from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, before the service, at the funeral home. The family suggests donations go to the Oncology Department at Glens Falls Hospital, 100 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801. The family would like to thank the Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital for their compassion and care during Tracy's stay. She was loved very much and will be missed. Published in the Post-Star on 8/7/2005. Granger, Craig "Grange" EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Craig "Grange" Granger, 48, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, in Connecticut. He was born July 23, 1957, in Glens Falls, the son of the late Roger and Frances Granger. He was affectionately known as Grange and Bolt. Craig was a chef; he started his career at the Whistle Stop in South Glens Falls. He also worked in area restaurants: Lucille's, Gold Shade and Mike's Restaurant. He moved on to work in Boynton Beach, Fla., at Dave Casey's Strebs and Catering and the Boca Raton Polo Club, as well as Pleasant Valley Inn in Westerly, R.I., and the Sports Bar in Hartford, Conn. His latest adventure was to help establish the Pub II in East Hartford, Conn. Craig loved his family, the New York Mets, and was an avid horse racing fan. His parents, Roger and Frances Granger, his sister, Virginia French, great- niece, Brooke Ogborn and his brother-in-law, Michael Lyons, have all predeceased him. Craig is survived by his children, Curtis, Patrick, Peter, and Jennifer Granger, all of Glens Falls, his former wife, Kimberly, of Glens Falls, and his companion, Tiffany West, of Hartford Conn.; his brothers and sisters, Peter Granger and his wife, Olivia, of Hudson Falls, Michael Granger, of Glens Falls, Diane Wells and her husband, William, of Glens Falls, Michelle Lyons of Glens Falls, Terry Heald and husband, Doug, of Saratoga Springs, Roger Granger and wife, Marjorie, of Fort Edward, Charles Granger and wife, Sherry, of South Glens Falls, Mariann Murphy and husband, Michael, of Hudson Falls, Lawrence French of Porters Corners; 28 nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews. Phillips, 20, of Hadley, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2005. Born May 1, 1985, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Deborah Cooper of Hadley. Liza was a graduate of Glens Falls High School, Class of 2005, and BOCES for computer graphics. She enjoyed motorcycles, punk bands, reading, animals, Care Bears and pugs. Liza loved spending time with her juggalo family. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Josephine Phillips, in 1994, and her uncle, Rolland Gage Phillips, Jr. in 1982. Liza is survived by her mother, Deborah Cooper ,and her significant other, Carl Eldridge, of Hadley; her stepfather, Jon Cooper, and his significant other, Priscilla Raymond, of Glens Falls; a sister, Susan Phillips, of Sanford, Fla.; her maternal grandfather, Rolland Gage Phillips Sr., of Newcomb; her uncle, Walter Phillips, of Sanford, Fla.; her coolest uncle in the world, Norman David Phillips, of Sanford, Fla.; her boyfriend, Greg Parker, of Glens Falls; and her juggalo family from all over the world; her extended family at the Wander Inn; her great-aunt and -uncle, Florence and Merton Phillips, of Newcomb; several cousins; four stepbrothers, Jon Cooper of South Glens Falls, Raymond Dow of Argyle, Matthew Dow of Argyle, and Gerald Dow Jr. of Granville; and two stepsisters, Stacey Sullivan of Schuylerville and Paulette Dow of Glens Falls. Sawyer, 82, formerly of Williams Street, died peacefully at the Genesis Eldercare Nursing Home in Rutland, Vt., on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005. Born on March 21, 1923, in Whitehall, he was the son of the late David O. and Blanche (Wells) Sawyer. Before entering the U.S. Army, David attended Muskegon Community College in Michigan. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and received the Purple Heart. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural route mail carrier. David held offices in the B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1491, the Phoenix Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons No. 96, and was a member of the American Legion Post 83 of Whitehall. He played the organ and directed the choir at the First Baptist Church in Whitehall and later became a member of the Whitehall United Methodist Church. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Clifford Sawyer. He is survived by one sister, Blanche Virginia Parry of Memphis, Tenn.; two nieces, Noel Wadell and Mary Claire Sawyer; and two nephews, Lance Sawyer and William S. Parry. A graveside service with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Post No. 83 of Whitehall will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at Greenmount Cemetery in Whitehall, with the Rev. St. John, 62, of county Route 23, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, surrounded by her daughters, at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness. Born on Aug. 17, 1942, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret (Phelps) Phillips Sr. Sylvia enjoyed gardening, fishing, antiquing, country music, dancing and the outdoors. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Ernest "Putt" Phillips Jr., Charles Phillips and Earl Phillips Sr. Survivors besides her husband of 45 years, Raymond Victor St. John, include three daughters: Sandra M. Hayes and her husband, Kenneth R. Hayes, of Fort Edward, Linda M. St. John and her, fiance, David A. Gibbs, of Hartford, and Jennifer L. St. John and her companion, Scott C. Wood, of Queensbury; five grandchildren: Stephanie M. Thompson, Eric J. Thompson Jr., Becky L. Jennings, Lisa M. Twiss and Amanda C. Neron; four brothers: Edward Phillips and his wife, Glenda, of Fort Edward, Dennis Phillips and his wife, Naomi, of Fort Edward, Jerry Phillips and his companion, Lois, of Hudson Falls, and Robert Phillips and his wife, Mary, of Fort Edward; five sisters: Margaret Rawlins of West Glens Falls, Pat Reed of Glens Falls, Priscilla Passino of Richford, Vt., Betty Coty of Richford, Vt., and Mert Phillips and her companion, Bud Hammond, of Fort Edward; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Wolf, 49, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005. Born Dec. 30, 1955, in Passaic, N.J., he was the son of Robert R. Wolf of Chestertown and the late Eldred Spradley Wolf. Mr. Wolf was formerly a tree surgeon for Jim Bolte of Paramus, N.J. His hobbies included camping, fishing, cars, motorcycles and music. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by one brother, David A. Wolf, who died May 23, 2005. Survivors besides his father include two sons, Jason Wolf and Jeffrey Wolf of Queensbury; one brother, Thomas D. Wolf of Chestertown; three nieces, Jennifer Scholl and her husband, Robert, of Sarasota, Fla., Bobbie Bradway and her husband, John, of Chestertown, and Joyce Wolf of Chestertown; one great-niece, Samantha Scholl; and one great-nephew, William Scholl. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Barton-McDermott Funeral Home, 9 Pine St., Chestertown, with the Rev George Fleming officiating. Interment will be in the Chester Rural Cemetery, Chestertown. Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home before the funeral services.
